Actually, everywhere (except at the fanboards, of corrs) it has been quiet about Andrea's new album,
Present. The news that Andrea has a solo album coming out has not come from COW or any record company site. It came from the website for Stylorouge (who produced the
Live in Geneva DVD):
www.stylorouge.co.uk/Stylorouge made it public that they were hired to do the EPK video for Andrea's solo album and that the album, called
Present, is expected to be released in Fall 2006 (September/October). Andrea plays the piano and sings acoustic versions of the songs on this EPK, but the album is not believed to be an acoustic album.
Images of the EPK by StylorougeThere have been newspaper articles announcing that Andrea signed a record deal with a "major label" but it isn't exactly certain which one. Most believe that it is Atlantic Records (which is what is being reported by Stylorouge). Atlantic is the same label of the Corrs. But, from what I understand, there was a spot on the
Rogue's Gallery pirate album that says that Andrea appears "courtesy of EMI records."
We know that the album according to Stylorouge) is being produced by
Nellee Hooper, "whose work includes classic tracks for Bjork, Soul ll Soul and U2 and countless chart-topping, dancefloor-filling remixes.." Hooper also did production work for Gwen Stefani, Tina Turner, and Sinead O'Connor to name some others.
There is talk of a setlist at the Corrs Club. One track has a working title of "Molly Bloom" or "Ideal World" as reported by a violinist named Simon Hewitt Jones who apparently plays on the record (see
HERE).
On June 8, Simon Hewitt Jones, posted:
"I just got, and listened to 35 times straight, one of the final mixes for Molly Bloom / Ideal World, the working title version of this Andrea Corr single that we played on. It's fantastic. You know the gut feeling you get when you hear an instant classic for the first time? Something like Fairytale in New York or some of the Beatles classics. I think, I hope... I'd put money on it, anyway. It just gets you there.
Sadly I can't share it with anyone as if I did I'd probably never work again But it''ll be out in the Autumn, and I'll let the mailing list know in good time."There was also a setlist posted
HERE at the Corrs Club, but there's debate about his. But the tracklist is purported to be:
1. Molly Bloom (3:21)
2. Hold Your Breath (5:14)
3. Easy as the rain (3:56)
4. From Up Above (3:14)
5. Way Back Then (4:12)
6. Night life (4:45)
7. No Exceptions (4:36)
8. Thank You (3:23)
9. Je Ne Sais Pas (Maybe Later) (4:09)
10. On My Own (4:22)
11. Joke (Instrumental -with Youenn Le Berre, from Gwendal) (3:17)
The source for this tracklist is somebody who has written a Wikipedia article on Andrea which can be found
HERE. Wikipedia is a user-created encyclopedia - the authenticity of the tracklist is unknown.
Andypandy, Keith and others will undoubtedly be able to give you more information. That's about all that I know right now.
