Thanks, Mindy. Your post reminded me that I should rent Imaginary Heroes (that you recommended) and also Veronica Guerin, which I tried to rent earlier but the store didn't have it.

GOSH! I saw Veronica Guerin on TV not too long ago! WOW! This film is amazing! It's sooooreal and I think it describes the situation Ireland was in very well! I didn't know anything about that before I saw the movie, and wow, the movie was just, wow. it's really worth seeing to learn more...also about the bad site the country and its people had to go through 8at least some of them) and an amazing strong woman working as a journalist. But take some cleenex with ya!

I bought it when it first came out, I was too impatient to wait for it to get cheaper I can never get tired of watching those movies! The 1st is awesome because it's a little more mysterious as you don't see the alien too much. And the 2nd has all the butt kicking LOL ;D I like the 3rd and 4th ones as well. One of the best movie series ever.

Oh my goodness...me pick a fave movie ...that is pretty difficult as I LOOOOVE movies!!! ;D I guess my all time fave would have to be "The Sound of Music" and these are a few of my favourite things (I mean movies ) The Committments (because of The Corrs!) and Andrea was in it. The Harry Potter movies Pirates of the Caribbean (1 & 2) Finding Neverland, I am Sam, Fried Green Tomatoes, Out of Africa, Circle of Friends (set in Ireland), about a Boy, Bend It Like Beckham, The Notebook, Billy Elliot shall I go on So long, farewell

Katie, you have some great movies on your list! I have always liked The Sound of Music, for several reasons. The music by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II for one. Secondly, I have memories of watching it yearly on TV as a child with my grandmother and how she would always cry at the end. Even as a teenager, I somehow didn't mind still watching it, but probably more to see Charmian Carr (Liesl) and Angela Cartwright (Brigitta) *lol* I watched Billy Elliott since Swantje lists it among her favourites, and I liked it. I have always enjoyed movies that involve a character having to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds. Another great, not widely known, film in this mold is October Sky. It's a great movie! The Commitments is a great movie. I remember seeing it in the early 1990's and enjoying the music and the obvious joy in making music by the band in that film. I STILL can't believe that Andrew Strong (Lead singer, Deco Cuffe) was just 16 years old in that film! What a voice! I haven't yet seen Pirates of the Carribbean II. Also I haven't seen Finding Neverland, I am Sam, Circle of Friends , Bend It Like Beckham, or The Notebook. I have heard good things about these films, though, so I'll have to watch them. Thanks, Katie!
