I´m not quite sure why I never started this topic before, for the show is my favorite one at the moment. Official SiteThe show´s basically about a few women who run a cattle station, "Drover's Run", in the outback of South Australia. "The four female leads carry the heart of each story throughout the series, which Posie believes reflects much of the truth of what's happening in Australia." source: sourceAnyway, whatever you have to say about the show, please post it in here.

Hey, what a great thread!!!!
As you can already imagine, Mc Leod´s daughters is also my favourite TV series at the moment. I soooo love the plot and the characters, etc. I also thought of creating this thread last week, but then I forgot about it again, hahaha. My brain, hahaha.
Anyone else here who loves this series?

Me me me me!!!! I have been watching it since January. I was zapping channels in the hospital and came across this serie and I just got hooked ever since. Man did I cry when Claire died.... Man was I happy when I received Lisa Chappell's signed cd Some of the cast are known through Police Rescue and Heartbreak HighI was very sad when Claire died and hated the new-comer Stevie, but now I think she is sooo cool I only wish now and then that the small arguements between Tess and Nick will end and that all will go better between them... And who of you knew that the real daughter of Mister Ryan (Harry) played in the series as well?

Yes, his daughter Jessica Napier played "Becky". That was a great character, I really liked her and I had tears in my eyes when Becky moved away from Drovers Run. I think Becky was part of the cast from one of the first episodes, wasn´t she? I remember seeing her at the very beginning of the series as the very first farm hand that Claire employed.

Yeah Becky... She was an analfabetic and tried to hide it really well because she did not want Claire to know about it. That is why she worked on a colour-scheme when Claire went on holiday and she was the head of the stables.... My friend told me that Jessica was "Harry's" daughter and I did not believe her... Until I googled it haha.... Harry and Meg used to co-star together in the Police Rescue series.

Okay...do I need to worry about my mental health whatsoever? Today I went on a bike tour with my dad. And at some point I suddenly realized that I was fantasizing...my bicycle was a horse and the Emsland was Australia...yeah yeah and I had red curly hair and amazingly cool boots. Haha. Seriously, I am beginning to wonder whether I whatch the series too much!
But then again, being mentally unbalanced should not be that bad *lol*:
Jodi: "I am beginning to wonder if Stevie is seriously mentally unbalanced." Stevie: "We've got to check the water pumps, even the mentally unbalanced have to work."
I remember very little of Becky because I started watching the show so late. I only discovered it a couple of episodes before Claire´s death. Enough episodes to get me to like Claire a lot. And then they let her die! It´s always my fav characters, isn´t it? And the that horrible Stevie character suddenly was involved into Drovers and I so did not like her. And now she´s my favorite character. Haha. Funny how things can change. Today I watched two episodes because I missed Friday´s episode which is why I saw the re-run today. Oh why do they have to put so much pressure on Stevie these days? I can´t bear to see her like that. And Alex...there are moments when I want to slap him in the face for being so blind! (Don´t get me wrong, I really like Alex, but you know what I mean.)

Owwww yeah, I looooved Claire too and then, she died. I was soooooo pissed at the writers, and then I googled her and found out about the cd she was recording, that kinda made the day a bit better. Esp since Lisa really wants to come to Europe if the cd sells well I also love Jodi, I love the way she changed througout the series. And I remember being sooooo happy when Claire and Alex finally got together!!! And then Alex wants to propose and.... It was soooooooo sad And all that Tess went through after losing her big sis... I soooo want these series on DVD

The writers of the series sure know what to do when it comes to the term "great Australian drama". There´s no episode without anything tragic or bad or very emotional happening (Which is why we decided to sue the writers and producers, haha.).
And yes, Alex and the women...I still believe he and Claire made the most perfect couple ever. And then they have him go through so much pain.(Another reason to sue the writers.)
As Tess. They let her lose her sister, they have her marry Nick, everything´s fine, then his husband seems to hve a baby son with Sally. Then he seems to have a heart desease...
Oh, btw. I also grew to like Jodi a lot. She´s so witty. And Kate Manfredi! Haha. She´s so much fun without knowing it herself. Her clumsiness is legendary! She´s such a control freak. Everything has to be planed (Kinda reminds of of someone.) but she always manages to let her clumsiness in the way. Will they ever let Kte and Dave become a couple? Gosh they´d match perfectly well.
Does anyone know more about Michala Banas (Kate) releasing a CD. I can´t remember where but I saw pictures of her promotion her music, so I figured there must be a CD as well. I´d like to know what her music sounds like. She´s got a lovely speaking voice so I guess she must be a good singer.
Another thing I love about the show is the Australian accent which I so love. Hihi. Though, here we get it in German, so I only saw some very few episodes in English so far. Pity. Who else realized that they all call Dave "Day". Is that some sort of pronounciation issue? I also had to get used to Tess calling Stevie "Stayvie".

That is why she worked on a colour-scheme when Claire went on holiday and she was the head of the stables.... That´s what I loved so much about her. She had a really hard time and had to go through so much (hihi, the writers of Mc Leod´s really love drama), the broken family, some boyfriends who let her down, etc. but nevertheless she never gave up and reached so much. That was really great!!!

Yeah, it rained on Drovers. Oh, that was such a lovely scene! Wonderful!!! Ok, here comes my view on the series: Of course, I soooo loved Claire. She was just the perfect lead character for the series and it kinda hit me when she and Tess were arguing so much in the beginning of the series. But then, when they got along pretty well later it was fantastic. It was all so perfect and then suddenly they let Claire die. I was soooo shocked, it was the last thing I had expected to happen. When they were having this accident I knew immediately that Claire will die and at that moment I was so angry that I switched off the TV and didn´t watch the end of the episode. Instead I called Swanny and told her what had happened and how angry I was. Tess had to go through sooo much since then. At first the cancer, then the loss of Claire, the seesaw until she got together with Nick, Nick´s son and his heart disease and now Regan trying to search for gold on Drovers and I´m quite sure that this won´t be it. They´ll find new things to prevent Tess from being happy. I so didn´t like Stevie at the beginning. She was so double-tongued and such a bad girl. She caused so much trouble and lied a lot. And when Claire had died I really couldn´t bear that she should be the leader of the farm together with Tess. But now she has changed soooo much and I really love the character. Actually I can´t say which one is my favourite character. I really love Tess for her calmness and her fairness and her aim to try to suit everybody, etc. But, I also love Stevie. She´s so cool and so brave and she always has these really cool verdicts. I like that. But, I also like Jodi and Kate a lot. Jodi is so much fun, she always acts a little bit girlish which is quite funny when you´re working on a farm and Kate is so clever and at the same time so clumsy. Dave, Nick and Alex are really cool, too. Alex is the perfect partner for Stevie, really, after Claire, of course. They fitted perfectly well, but now that Claire´s not there anymore I thing that Alex and Stevie should get together. Dave is the perfect match for Kate. I really don´t like that he has a crush on Regan. And Nick is just perfect for Tess. I really like him. He´s so handsome. I would have married him, too. Ok, that´s it for now. Oh, one thing, I really like the episode with the murder mystery party. That´s such a great idea. I´ll make such a party myself one day, that´s for sure.

Seriously, I am beginning to wonder whether I whatch the series too much! Oh, Swanny, you should definitely go and see the doctor. Maybe that was too much heat for you. Do you think so? That´d explain the headaches, too. Okay, who saw today´s eppy (On German Tv? It´s Episode 128 If You Build It...": Episode Guide ) Oh my, my heart went out to Sandra. I´ve always liked her. Even though she´s nasty and intriguing. There are always moments when I so like her. I think it´s kind of a hate-love. She isn´t such a bad person after all, and then again she is and then again she isn´t. You never know with Sandra. When she was driving that big machine today to disturb the folks on Drover´s etc. I laughed my butt of! Little Sandra driving that big machine and having this totally nasty, evil grin on her face. God, haha, I laughed SO hard, my brother was wondering what was going on. Haha, and now I am laughing again because that look on her face was burned into my brain. Haha. I also had to laugh so hard about the fact that Jodi and Kate thought Rob´s gay. Hahaha. And the story about that huge snake suddenly appearing and Stevie saying: "And was it gay?!" Ahahaha. I just need to know more about this Rob character very soon. But this episode was not just one for laughter (As usual.). After laughing I soon was made to cry pretty bad. My tears were just rolling and rolling down my face when Sandra was sitting there, in the mud, to explain to Stevie that her mother had left her when she was still very young and that she had now died. And then she was crying so hard and Stevie had to hold her. *sob*

Oh while typing my message I did not see you had posted again, Sabine. I can only agree with all that you said.
I still did not see the murder mystery party eppy! Ah! I still have it here on tape after recording it from tv last week. I just can´t seem to find a moment to put it into the player and watch it! I am sooooo curious what that murder mystery party might be. It must be something really cool when you like it so much. I guess, knowing myself, after watching the episode, I want to have party like that, too.

Seems like you gals are further in the epi's than we are here They used to air it daily, but now with the summer-tv-season, I can't seem to find it anymore *sobs* Ah well, it will be on, I just have to be patient....grrrrr I am not! But yeah the writers surely know how to have you laughing, crying and back to ahhhh..... in no time. That is one of the things that got me hooked during the first epi's back in January. And to the ones who know the Aussie series: Heartbreak High, the woman that plays Sandra now, played in that series as well: Inge Hornstra (still think she has a really Dutch name).

Here in Germany we´re close to the end of the 5th season.
It´s on TV right now and I thought that I´d post a little bit about today´s epi during the commercial break.
I had laugh soooo hard about Jodi and Rob. I turn to like Rob a lot lately, though I´m still not sure if he´s good or bad. But today it was really great, hahaha:
Jodi (standing in front of Rob half-naked because she thinks that he´s gay and that he doesn´t care about half-naked women): It´s ok, I know about you, don´t worry. Rob: You know what? Jodi: It´s ok, Rob. Rob: What´s ok? Jodi: So you´re not gay?
Hahahaha, that was great.
But, I really didn´t want to know about Dave´s belch. That was bääääähhhhh...
They had 2 wonderful songs in today´s epi, but unfortunately they aren´t on the 2 soundtracks. Does that mean, that they´ll release a third one? I really hope so, that would be great.
