Not often we see Anto in camer shot at an album release but this one dates back to 2000 and the release of a folkloric piece called the "High King of Tara" where he was one of the prime musos involved. A young lady may be noticed in this picture; she happens to be Anto's daughter. Anto and Andy during her solo effort. The big fella seems to have a worried expression on his face. He's probably been so used to being backstage with her older sibs keeping guard but now HE'S been left playing babysitter to the darling little ditz !! Another Anto/Andy one. One can picture Anto muttering "I'm trying NOT to see her tragic air guitar and NO, she's never getting anywhere near my Strat. If she doesn't kill herself, she's probably shortcircuit an entire city !!

The boss lady posted the following snap of her poor mistreated accompanist on Twitter. Not sure he's 100% thrilled about the intrusion. Interesting to see him back playing a Strat, haven't seen him on one since that silver number he was playing during the IB period.

Thank you (and Sharon) for the picture of the unsuspecting Anto! When you said "silver number", I was thinking of a piece of music ("what song from In Blue is the Wombat talkin' about?"). I just woke up and haven't had any coffee! I found this picture of Anto playing a Fender from the 2009 Ranelagh Arts Festival last month:

Yeah, seen him play that "classic" Tele on a few gig clips with the Donal Kirk Band. The "silver number" I was referring to was the silver Strat (suspect a Custom Shop job) he was playing on the IB doco (LR DVD) & at LIL. The one in the picture looks like a '62 Reissue.
Suspect HIS axe collection would be distinctly large (and worth quite a bit) .... and quite probably the subject of directives from his "she who must be obeyed" to offload a few or find somewhere to store them & stop cluttering up my house !!
