Actually, Bernard, I have preferred Sharon Corr as a brunette, but she does look great as a blonde too. Cara Dillon is really unassuming; there's a charming sweetness to her gentle demeanor. As did the Corrs, she has had some Spinal Tap moments during her recent tour in America. As you can tell in the "Garden Valley" video above - where audience members get up, leave, and walk around right in the middle of a song - she wasn't being given the respect she is due as one of Ireland's finest singers. It's a far cry from Ireland, where she is held in much greater esteem - as evidenced in this video in which Cara performed with the Ulster Orchestra: ie.youtube.com/watch?v=V-oquRLcmAM

Here's a nice video of "Brockagh Braes" with photos of Cara Dillon: ie.youtube.com/watch?v=nfYzRPhRlPAHQ VersionExactly one week ago, I had the opportunity to see Cara perform again here in California. This time she was part of the Irish Christmas in America concert. She was wonderful, as usual! Set list (of just the performances of Cara Dillon): Rug Muire Mac Do Dhia (Mary Bore A Child For God) The Parting GlassHappy Birthday (sung to Téada flute player Damien Stenson) O Holy Night The Snows They Melt The Soonest Lark in the Clear Air The Lonesome Scenes of Winter Oíche Chiúin/Silent NightI also was able to get a signed copy of her new album Hill of Thieves, which will be released generally in January. It's an awesome album!! ;D She is such a nice person - especially for a lady with two year-old twins! She let me get this photo:

I guess I'm talking to myself again. I seem to be isolated in my musical likes these past several months. Oh well, that's just the way it goes. Even the Carpenters thread has zero replies. Cara's Hill of Thieves CD was released today. There is a YouTube up (right now, at least, until the lawyers find out!) of "Jimmy Mo Mhile Stor" and "The Verdant Braes of Skreen":

Here is a picture of Cara Dillon with her wee twins, Noah and Colm. When I see this, I wish that the Corrs would have carried on with their music a bit like this!! Here's another video of Cara peforming "Johnny, Lovely Johnny" at the Celtic 2009 concert in January: HQ

Cara Dillon, Sam Lakeman, Seth Lakeman, and Kate Rusby, some of today's leading acts in the UK and Irish folk scene, were formerly members of Equation, a folk supergroup signed to Warner label Blanco y Negro in 1995 by Geoff Travis. They recorded one album, Return To Me, which was shelved by the record company just before its release (but was later released by Rough Trade Records after Travis bought the masters), but the lead single, "He Loves Me", got a release in 1996 with a full promotional video. The video became available on Ebay recently and with a stroke of luck a fan had the winning bid. Here is the video that has been sort of a "holy grail" for Equation fans in the YouTube era. HQ
