Carrie Underwood Debut at #1 on the country charts this week and #2 on billboard top 200 and #2 on world charts.I agreed with Simon when he said that Carrie would be the best selling American idol ever before she even won. Westly and I had her picked to win on the 2nd episode! Her new cd is great-not a bad song on the record.She also has 2 different hits on the pop& country singles charts.  |

I must admit that I never even heard of her. Her name doesn´t ring a bell but reading from your post I get a bit of info about her. Thanks Scott. When I read "country charts" my mind goes "Oh cool, then the CD must be good".  Do you know whether she writes her own music? Or does she just get to sing the songs? Covers maybe? God must I sound annoying *lol* Done with the interview questions now.  |

Not a bad way to debut... only Madonna ahead of her! Yes, I watched this past season of American Idol (hey, it is, after all, one of the only regular shows on American TV that features MUSIC) and I was impressed with Carrie Underwood's ability to compete, since the contest format does not seem ideally suited for a country singer. This kind of chart success for a debut artist REALLY underscores the power of television in promoting music. Another example is the Corrs' performance on Star Academy which has kept Home still at #14 on the French charts after all of these weeks. It would be wonderful if the Corrs could land some big TV promo appearance in the U.S.... but then again what's the point? Home was never even released here!  |

I am pretty sure she didnt write any of the songs- maybe the Checotah song since she lives there. Your right dazed-you havge no idea how i wish the Corrs would do a half-time show for the superbowl-that would be the catalyst for everything!! |

CMT is having a listening party so you can hear her whole album-i see about 7 hits off this record. The cool thing is she is great at pop-she did an awesome cover of Alone by heart. heres the link to hear her album. Oh so many clips to down! Which one to choose first? Hehe, I will go with "Sin Wagon" (Obviously because I love the Dixie Chicks CDs).
