Hi everybody, just wondering how many of you guys like rock bands....Linkin Park for example, i think their music is cool but they lately tend to repeat old songs or remix them....I don`t know....what do you think?

I enjoy rock bands, and I can remember a time when the majority of acts were rock groups. It seems as if that era has passed somewhat. There are more solo artists, and other types of music than rock, particularly hip-hop, rap and latin.
One example of this might be Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20. I don't know much about him really, but I remember that in the 1990s, Matchbox 20 was a band that did rock songs with great lead vocals by Thomas. But he broke away from his band and changed his sound. There still remain a lot of good groups out there, although many of them struggle to be heard.
I am not a Linkin Park fan, not because I don't like them but more because I just haven't listened to them that much. I don't know much of their music, but of corrs I've heard of them, and I know that they are enormously successful. I went to their MySpace and listened to some of their songs just now. They make good music, I think. I notice the influence of rap in their music with the "rap DJ" effects - LP reccord scratchy sounds.
Flash ahead 50 years and try to imagine a music "sing-a-long" in a retirement community. I would like to see that, haha. A bunch of silver-haired senior citizens singing Eminem songs! Scary thought!
