Thanks, Simone! Reunion is the home of some very beautiful music! I enjoyed it very much. Very melodious, and also I like the acoustic guitar at the opening. The rhythm was very interesting; I was trying to figure out the time signature, but I wasn't sure what it is. Thanks!!!

Just for fun, here’s an Elton John/Bernie Taupin tune that I’ve always liked called “Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters” in THREE different versions: First, the original version by Elton John. Next, by one of my favourite girl bands, Heart and Nancy Wilson sings lead vocals, which is rare. Finally, a somewhat recent version by Mandy Moore, who earned some respect from me with her album Coverage. (Pay no attention to the misspelled title *lol*). Great songwriting endures.

Thanks Steve... never heard that Elton John's song before... how could this happened??? It's a great song, and my "heart" will go to the Heart cover, with the acoustic guitar ... it's really awesome ! I'm not a big fan of Mandy Moore, to be honest... but she did a good work onthe song too ("Tad Hatters" lol : Thanks again for sharing... and for making me discovered Heart

The Wilson sisters (Ann and Nancy) are some incredible musicians. Nancy is a an amazing guitarist, and Ann (who sang backing vocals on this video) is a great lead singer. I'm glad that they are still making music. They have done some incredible music! Regarding Mandy Moore, I had those exact same feelings. I kinda lumped her in with the likes of Jessica Simpson, but I did respect her more after Coverage.

Let's hear it for Nova Scotia!! What a wonderful tradition of Celtic music exists in Canada's Maritime Provinces! Today, one of our Canadian members, Katie, told me about a talented young singer from Cape Breton named Aselin Debison who burst on the scene several years ago at the very young age of 8 when she was asked to sing at a rally of protesting miners in her hometown. She's 17 now and, after singing more pop-oriented music, she has not been seen much, but here are some videos of her from a concert she gave at Glace Bay in 2002 when she was just 11: "Sweet Is The Melody" www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZieUWlhohyw"Moonlight Shadow" www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3ugp-de6TsPromo for her first album, Sweet Is the Melody: www.youtube.com/watch?v=70IyAglOwFU(I noticed the left-handed fiddle player!)

Haha, Simone! I haven't heard THAT song in a while. I actually remember "The Joker" being on the radio all the time when I was a kid. It's great to see these YouTubes, because I get a greater appreciation for the song by seeing Steve Miller play it using a variety of techniques, including slide guitar using his little finger. I never knew the bass guitar player was a lefty! The acoustic version was very good too, though it's not the same without that bass line and that signature " bwaaaap bwoooooww" slide guitar "wolf whistle". Thanks for the memories! Hihi. ;D

I FINALLY found a flash player video of "Hotel California" with decent sound. Unfortunately the video aspect ratio is a little off, but, oh well!, it's the music that's important. HERE is a 1977 live performance of "Hotel California" by the Eagles. Eagles - Hotel California (Live)The band's line up includes drummer Don Henley (singing vocals here); Glenn Frey; Joe Walsh (looking like a mad pirate), Randy Meisner (who left the band not long afterwards) and Don Felder (who has since been booted from the band, and filed a lawsuit against the Eagles ). Anyway, the guitar duet at the end of the song by Don Felder and Joe Walsh has to be one of the best ever!

Yep, Steph! That's a brilliant one, the famous "TFI Friday" interview (forgot which year though). The Corrs are so funny!! Thanks for posting it, hihi! ;D There's also the part where Andrea is given a tiny violin to play. Every time I see Andrea doing this, I laugh. ;D

I just watched Heart: Live in Seattle two nights ago. I am so impressed with Ann's singing; it's getting only better with time. Steph was asking about Heart. They are a brilliant band which, at the core, are two sisters, Ann and Nancy Wilson. I had an earlier video of them performing an Elton John song. This DVD was recorded in late 2002. Here are a few clips that I found: "Alone" (slowed down from the famous one during their "metal chick" days of the 80's): Heart-Alone (Live in Seattle)"Dog and Butterfly" (what a song!): Heart-Dog and Butterfly (Live in Seattle)A cover of Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog" (incredible!!): Heart-Black Dog (Live in Seattle)
