We needed a classical music post!! Here is one. If you're ever in the mood to hear some very beautiful orchestral and piano music, I submit this 3rd movement andante from the Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major Op. 83 by Johannes Brahms, here performed by the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of the late Sergiu Celibidache and featuring Daniel Barenboim at the piano: www.dailymotion.com/video/xsvy1_brahms-concerto-piano-no2-adagio_musicI love the cello opening. I still remember how this movement captured my imagination while I was driving my car on a highway toward the Pacific coast in the late afternoon, and I saw the first few advance clouds of a late afternoon fog coming inland from the ocean. The way I see it, the key to appreciating the much of the music of Brahms it to listen enough times to get the main themes in your head. Once you can recognize these themes, the music goes from being "overly heavy" to marvelous. In this piece, the themes are stated initially by the cello during the opening before the piano even starts.
