Hey guys! Since I got really interested in the piano I got to know a musician (with a little help of my friend hehe). I only know one instrumental of him yet. it is called "Cloudy this morning". It is a piano instrumental and I just loooooove it! He, Geroge Winston, has just or will release a new album soon called: "Montana - A love story" which is said to be dedicated to his home state Montana hehehe. if you wanna get to know a great musician here is a link to his website: www.georgewinston.comI can highly recommend his piano instrumental "Cloudy this morning". really great!

Thanks for opening a thread, Caro; I never thought I'd see a thread on George Winston here, but you have a good "ear" for music, just like you have a good "eye" for photography. (I won't say if it's the left or right ear or eye, though, hehehe ) Caro's playing of a piece of her own creation was what reminded me George Winston. Yes, I have four George Winston CDs on the Windham Hill label: December, Winter Into Spring, Autumn, and Summer. He has been making great records about 25 years now. I discovered him through a roommate in college who really loved his records. He incorporates elements of jazz into his piano instrumentals and he experiments with the whole range of sounds that the piano can make. I love how he allows his chords to resonate and reverberate. He'll hold a chord at the end of a track sometimes 20 or more seconds. His music gets classified as "New Age" but he prefers to call it "rural folk piano." It's very relaxing and evocative music.
