Sharon's most devoted fans held one of their bi-annual get togethers in Sao Paolo on Nov 1. They put together the following clip which was posted yesterday (Nov 10). Not sure I'd want to wake up to THAT shade of green with a hangover but the little ones (esp the aspiring Caro) are certainly cute. I'm an old cynic but even I can genuinely admire the sincerity & passion of these "crazies". Sharon Tweeted "Thank you to my lovely fans from Brazil, what a lovely tribute, made me cry" which isn't surprising and Gavin was also touched by it. ANY artist should be thrilled to receive this kind of 'feedback" from their fans for that IS what this really is .... Their thank you not only for Sharon's engagement with them but also the manner in which she has done so. Unlike many artists, she has not treated her fanbase as inanimate objects but as people & has communicated with us, both collectively & individually on that basis. One hopes she may reap the dividends for this ... yet one feels she has already felt rewarded in that way. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hG7iNqA1FQ8

Sharon did have the above Brazilian fan clip posted on her website but there has been more on the Brazilian fan front. Two of the beating heart of that wonderful gang of "nutters" have been Ana & Rafa from the tribute band "Dundalk". They have recently recorded a clip of Sharon's (as yet unreleased) song "Ears Painted On" and Sharon has done them the honour of posting on her website commenting "we loved it" www.youtube.com/watch?v=WS1EPhEHP3sFurry animal musings.(1) Again, Sharon demonstrates her grace & her class in recognising these fan efforts as being an ultimate compliment for her music from her fans; NOT as an attempt to "rip her off". (2) When I was first introduced to "Dundalk" by Katia about 18 months ago, my response was frankly "oh a quite cute amateur tribute band" & whilst I admired their passion, I thought the output a little hard on the ear. I am, however, very very happy to change my assessment. Ana's vocals on their INAD really impressed me & she actually had a better feel for the song's tempo than a few early live performances by Sharon. My regard for their musical skills has also grown especially Rafa's guitar accompaniment & Gustavo's percussion. In short, this group's growth has been amazing; no doubt due to their increased confidence gained via their new-found support on the net & particularly Twitter and especially due to Sharon's personal support & encouragement. Having got to know Ana & Rafa (and to a lesser degree Guga) personally, they are lovely people that I would quite enjoy playing with. Have also noted that Sharon has endorsed Ana's technique for keeping erring male in line.
