Attention! Corrs fans/Sharon fans!We have been tasked with a mission (with support from Sharon's hubby Gavin himself!) to coordinate our efforts as fans to give a boost to the second Bandaged Together single for the BBC Children in Need Appeal that contains Sharon's track "Me and My Teddy Bear" (a sample of which can be heard now at this MySpace page: www.myspace.com/bandagedtogether1). This physical single goes on sale on the 7th of December 2009, and it is the intention of a group of fans to make a rush on the UK singles charts by agreeing to make all our purchases on the same day where possible. Hopefully the fan base all around the world will be able to help somehow. Pay attention to the posts your might find here from our Australian roving operative, Wombat, and our Brazilian agent, Katia (aka "danalefay"). They are in close touch with the plan and might relay instructions here when the time comes. Gavin has called our attention to the Twitter page of Hellen Bach, twitter.com/hellenbach, for further information. (Hellen Bach states, "Norman and I are the TOGs behind Charity Goods, raising money for BBC Children in Need all year round. We sell Janet and John and created BANDAGED." ) Also watch the Bandaged Together website: www.bandagedtogether.com/BANDAGED_TOGETHER/home.htmlAlso Gavin Bonnar's Twitter page my have information as well: twitter.com/gavin_bonnarLet's see if we can work together with all the other fan boards and groups and make this happen. There is apparently stiff competition from X-Factor. Do it for Sharon, because she REALLY loves Pudsey!

Pudsey is probably thinking "this ain't a bad gig" receiving such affection from two charming, talented & gorgeous ladies. Sharon's signed Pudsey went on E-bay this morning for GBP66 which equates to over USD100.

Some further interesting news out of Sharon's involvement with CIN. In yesterdays charity auction, the highest price raised was GBP32,000 for a performance by Aled Jones, Hayley Westenra & Sharon. Wouldn't mind catching that one myself as it would be an interesting combination of talents & voices and I could see Sharon's violin adding a certain something. www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/wake-up-to-wogan/terrys-children-in-need-09-auction/monday/Sharon has Tweeted a couple of times regarding Hayley & Aled Jones (a Welsh tenor who also hosts a BBC radio program) recorded an interview with Sharon which was broadcast last Sunday. A transcript of that interview can be located on the COL blog (thanks Lisa Oz Queen for the transcription). community.livejournal.com/thecorrsonline/27732.html

Could this be a future partnership ?? A fan Tweeted Hayley Westenra about the upcoming gig with Sharon & Aled Jones and asked whether she'd thought about recording with Shaz.
Her response: "I'd love to ! Wonderful voice, wonderful person x"
I think this combination COULD really work. Hayley does have the experience of working with charismatic Irish female violinists (yes, we're referring to you Mairead Nesbit). Would throw Sharon to b/vox rather than a duet but insert her violin into the arrangement, probably with a solo. Who knows, something MIGHT come of this given the CIN gig.

That would be a nice collaboration, methinks. I'm not sure whether it was posted here already, but here's a Hotpress article on Sharon: www.hotpress.com/news/6025274.htmlIt reveals that Sharon recorded "Me and Me Teddy Bear" with Billy Farrell in Dublin and not at the Abbey Road Studio as I had thought. I believe this means that Sharon must have done all the backing vocals herself, then. I thought that I detected the voice of this Irish singer too during the chorus, but I was wrong. Sharon did an amazing job on this single.

A little further on Shaz & CIN. Herself made an appearance at the launch of CIN 2009 where the following snap was taken with Pudsey & English comedian Peter Kay A fitting caption may be "A bear; a big boofy bloke in a bad hat .... and a beautiful woman"

OK, the clip has been released. They chose a WW2 period feel (to fit with the Rosemary Clooney original no doubt) for footage & Sharon's wardrobe & hairstyle. The style DOES suit & Pudsey does seem to receive admirable affection ..... as well as a little scolding. Viewing the credits, her overworked & underpaid crew were not only called on for instruemental backing but to also provide a backing "chorus" of sorts. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIM-1gCFbnI

Thanks, CW. Yes, a sweet video with a very retro-stylish Sharon Corr! Nicely done!! I do like the concept. It brings us back in time to era of Rosemary Clooney's original version and also Vera Lynn's "The Little Boy That Santa Claus Forgot" (which, incidentally, was not a song about the soon-to-hibernate Wombat - just-kidding-just-kidding!). And further good news: at the moment, this single by Sharon, Sir Terry Wogan, Aled Jones is #1 on the Amazon UK singles chart.

Oh yes, the retro 40's) style really does work for Sharon who really must rate amongst Ireland's most stylish women.Back to the vid, love the tongue in cheek humour which really became a trademark of many Corrs vid clips. This clip COULD have descended into cuteness overload but Sharon's interplay with Pudsey tipped the scales to "just right". Mind you, I don't think Pudsey was complaining one bit.
One also wonders whether Cathal & Flori have managed to score their own Pudseys out of this, one suspects some major pouts if they haven't. Seem to recollect a reflection from one Robert Gavin Bonnar J.D along the lines of "that bear" getting more affection than him !! Envy, envy !!
Finally, congrats to Sharon & CIN for allowing Shaz's team to produce the single. As with the clip, they've hit the right note which further reinforces my impression that Sharon has chosen wisely with Billy Farrell as producer.

The director of the clip, Jeremy Engler, posted the following comment over on Shaz's website.
"As the director, I would like to tell you all how much fun we had making the video. Sharon was wonderful and BobHPoOr you are right, what an actress !! (I still laugh every time i see Sharon feed Pudsey the toast) I would like to thank all the people that gave their time to help get this video made. Especially Academy Costumes for the wonderful wardrobe they gave us for Sharon and a big well done to the little boy Archie for his first acting role.
I'd also like to state that the battered and torn "Stunt" Pudsey seen given to the "Young Sharon" in the video has been fully repaired and found a loving home. Congrats to everyone involved, especially Norm & Hellen who put this all together and a special big thank you to Sharon for being so much fun to work with and giving us all a special day to remember."
Stunt Pudsey ...... ROFLAO !! Still, Jeremy has really hit on the magic of this recording & clip. There is the essential "cuteness" but the humour injected prevents the cuteness from becoming saccharine overload. Likewise with the recording where Billy & Fiachra have demonstrated a similar level of sensitivity.
