I came across this YouTube of the Canadian duo Madison Violet (Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac) performing "Crying": madisonviolet.comBoth grew up in rural Canada listening their parents' collection of Neil Young, Dolly Parton and Simon and Garfunkel albums alongside the traditional Scottish folk of their heritage. They have been together for almost a decade after meeting in Toronto. The duo draw on those early reference points in the release of three albums of arresting acoustic folk with a solid streak of bluegrass and Americana. Yesterday they were awarded Canadian Folk Award for Vocal Group of the year: Vocal group of the year winner Madison Violet is based in Toronto, but the contemporary folk-pop duo features Cape Breton fiddler and singer Lisa MacIsaac and singer-songwriter Brenley MacEachern, whose family also hails from the island.
"We’re like the Susan Luccis of Canadian music," grinned MacIsaac, also sister of fiddler Ashley MacIsaac, on the podium with MacEachern. "It’s nice to be respected as folk artists; we started playing pop, but our music got progressively rootsier, which is where we both came from.
"To have the folk community respect and appreciate where we come from is an honour."They were happy about the award after finally winning: Their latest album is called No Fool for Trying. More info HERE.

Here's another one of their tunes - this being the title track to their album, No Fool For Trying:
Another version of "Crying":
I found another video of Lisa MacIsaac, Brenley MacEachern and bassist Adrian Lawryshyn sharing their harmonies and a laugh with the audience with this fictional song called "Never Saw The Ending" performed at the Gilmour Street Music Hall in in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada in August 2009.
Lisa's brother, Ashley MacIsaac, is a well-known fiddle player in his own right:
