It would seem that Ireland's No.1 "downtrodden husband" has figured out a way of (temporarily at least) keeping himself in the good books with She Who Must Be Obeyed.

Sharon takes a bow at surprise 40th party
We probably like to think of those beautiful Corr sisters as never having to age or get old like the rest of us.
Stop me before I turn into William Butler Yeats, but the ageless Sharon Corr actually turned 40 a few weeks ago.
She possibly just wanted to mark it uneventfully with a quiet dinner with her husband. I mean, what woman wants everyone to know her age, let alone that she is the big four-O?
Gavin Bonner evidently had other ideas. He threw a surprise birthday party for his gorgeous wife in L'Ecrivain a few weeks ago. (It's a sure sign that the recession is starting to end when people are no longer frightened to spend money. And I don't mean spending it on the banks.)
According to a fellow diner, the violinist and chanteuse with The Corrs went into the bar to wait for a table for two only to be surprised by the whole family -- plus Brett Desmond and Frank Woods, respective husbands of Andrea and Caroline Corr. They were all gathered in the private dining room downstairs to celebrate her big day along with the Corrs' long-serving manager John Hughes and his wife Marie.
There was much champagne and high spirits at the revamped eaterie on Baggot Street. There was even a birthday cake. You know you're getting old when the candles cost more than the cake. The birthday girl and her guests left about 12.30am.
Last weekend, Andrea and Brett attended friend Sarah Lawlor's wedding at Durrow Castle. The Dundalk songbird wore a very understated cranberry dress while the bride wore a long cream dress with a satin detail.
