I was thinking.... always dangerous, I know. One of the ways for Sharon to showcase that she's more than just another pretty face is to play several instruments during various performances. [Her fans all know that she's an incredibly talented musician! ;D] I know that's difficult being that she'd have to do the violin parts, but maybe there'd be a way around it. For example - maybe get on the piano for Over It and play it without the violin, or hop on guitar for another song. I don't mean for her to do an entire concert away from the violin, but I would bet anything that there are a lot of people out there who don't know that she plays other instruments. And, yes, I know that Sharon says that her guitar playing is "crap" but she proved in one of the videos that she can play enough to accompany herself. In any case, I think this might endear herself even more to industry bigwigs, fans, and critics alike. The other thing... NYC has an initiative going where they've placed pianos strategically on streetcorners for people to play them. I haven't been in NYC to see this in action, and I don't know exactly where they all are, although I'm pretty sure there's at least one if not more than one in Central Park. How great would it be for Sharon to shoot a segment for something (or just for her website) performing at one of these brightly colored pianos on an NYC streetcorner or in Central Park for anyone who happened to pass by? The only problem is that I don't know for how long this is going on. I can't imagine that it'll be year-round because of the bad winters we can get over here. Any thoughts? -- Marie

Some decidedly interesting thoughts, Marie. Not too sure of the practicalities of the first one. We have seen her muck around with piano & on Anto's guitar on some of her clips but not sure it's viable during a concert. What numbers would she realistically be "putting over" on these instruments ? However, I COULD see some lighthearted mileage down that alley if she DID pick up Anto's acoustic whilst he was offstage. She could probably get the audience to laugh along telling them how "crap" she is on guitar & than having to put in back quickly as Anto's a lot bigger than her !! Re the "street pianos, you're referring to "Play Me I'm Yours" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_piano www.streetpianos.com/Saw & had a play at last year's Sydney Festival & also in London last year, there are more than a few YT clips around. You actually might be onto something here !! They will be running this in Belfast during the 2nd half of August so maybe they could film her having a lighthearted tinkle of the ivories (maybe a little Lough Erin Shore) during a v-log update. Not so sure about media but you never know. A very interesting left-field thought !!

I've always had the impression that all the Corrs are highly talented at the piano because of their parents. Well, it might be termed "mucking around" by those who play, let's just say, Rachmaninoff in front of an orchestra. "Over It" would be a good one for her to sit at the keyboards (is there a violin solo in it, though?) I like your idea, Marie, about the "Play Me I'm Yours" with a a number of cameras to document Sharon and also the gathering crowd a la Beatles rooftop or U2 "Where the Streets Have No Name". Okay, perhaps on a wee bit more modest scale, though. I wonder if also she'd go on Balcony TV maybe with Anto? ( www.balconytv.com/dublin)

Steve .... with all due respect ..... (reverses fist & extends middle finger). With regards to Sharon on keyboards during a show, I still think that may be a tricky one. Over It involves a violin solo. I'm liking Play Me I'm Yours more & more. It COULD make a very charming little media spot given the potential for public interaction. Sometimes these little " 1 percenters" can pay off very well. Even if the media option doesn't work, it may be a nice little v-log for the website/YT. Play Me I'm Yours may not be unhappy with any publicity. Saw a Balcony TV spot for Roberta Howett (sometime b-vox for SC) a while back. Not sure that Shaz may be TOO established an artist for this outlet but maybe not, I like the idea. It's sometimes these kind of media spots that can provide the "gold" .... case in point her Carpool appearance. It may not be the direct audience that is the pay off but rather those inside the media who may watch such clips to guage if she may be a suitable guest for THEIR show. Finally ... to put Steve back in his box . It's hard to guage the full piano proficiency of all 4 siblings due to the limited material available for 2 of them. It would be fair to state that they all possess some degree of proficiency on the instrument. Caroline WAS studying for a Diploma in piano & despite "F Demented" she is clearly proficient. To my mind, Jim is a very, very accomplished player. His rhythmic drive on numbers like Joy of Life is wonderful & he is a marvellous accompanist for those 3 prime causes of his depreciating mental state. Shows like Unplugged & LID were wonderful in really showing some focus on his musicianship & talent.

Not too sure of the practicalities of the first one. We have seen her muck around with piano & on Anto's guitar on some of her clips but not sure it's viable during a concert. What numbers would she realistically be "putting over" on these instruments ? Maybe a cover of something that's not on the album. Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over" comes to mind. Or possibly a traditional Irish piece - something like what Jim used to do. If that was done, it wouldn't have to be a long, time consuming piece - just something that basically says, "Look at me, I play more than the violin!" But you're right, it wouldn't work with tracks that have prominent violin parts. And, also, we haven't heard the album yet. It's possible that there's a track that doesn't feature the violin but would work well on the piano. I had no idea that was something that's been done before. Guess I missed that part of the news broadcast. Lucky you to get to play in Sydney. I kick everyone out of the room when I play something, LOL! Oooh... so it could possibly work! Sharon? Gavin? Interested? BTW, love your idea of Sharon snatching Anto's guitar. That would be amusing! -- Marie
