The smallest Corr appeared at the Kirsty McColl tribute show on 10th October & performed "They Don't Know". www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1ph6n91HvE&feature=relatedPossibly the most "comfortable" performance from Andrea that I've seen in many years. Most definitely very relaxed as can be witnessed with her laughing along with the audience & it can be heard in her smoother vocal tone (one of her key assets in her prime but sadly less evident in later years). Actually, I like this song for her ..... not sure if it IS on her purported 2nd album but certainly live .... if she can bribe/steal "the lads" away from big sister !

I agree with you. Andrea did seem very relaxed, and I also think it is a good song for her. Didn't I read somewhere that she was going to do an album of covers? This could be one of them.

Yes, the word is that the second album is a "covers album".
In two minds on that one. I scoff at some savants that insist she must do almost exclusively original stuff. They forget that many great artists were primarily interpretative artists with great songwriters writing for them. A great cover (I'd classify Sharon's STB as one) can sometimes bring a whole new perspective on a number. To say the original (or composer's) interpretation is always the best is frankly "horse manure"; a number of great classical composers (who were 1st rate performers in their own right) often said that others sometimes got more out of their composition than they did.
A covers album, especially one on a specific theme, can work but often this is a bit more "down the track" when the artist is more "established" which is not the case with Andrea. This may count against it's release and/or airplay. I hope that is NOT the case & I would definitely be interested to hear samples of this project. I haven't liked a lot of Andrea's vocal output/style post 2002 but at her best she is an artistic heiress of the great vocalists of the late 60's-70's & could do justice to some great songs.
Hope this does not earn me the usual lynching from certain quarters.

I loved that performance! Did Kirsty write that? Believe it or not, I only knew Tracey Ullman's version! I'm still waiting for Andrea's second album. Honestly, I have no problem with her doing a covers album. Then again, I have no problem with people doing cover songs. The Corrs have done some fantastic ones in their day. I'm really curious to hear what she's chosen to do. -- Marie
