MTV unplugged was perfect. i saw this performance just last summer. it was facinating! when i so it that was wow! definitely no 1! That's the way I feel too! It's such an amazing performance - start to end. I know some fans that don't like it, though. I read a post that said, "The Corrs are at their best when performing live" - that's the problem with Unplugged". What is THAT supposed to mean?

maybe some fans think that Unplugged was not live performance :/ sounds in it is so clean. and everything sounds so perfect. but to me Unplugged was great and perfect REAL LIVE performance (if you know what i mean )

If anything, this DVD is even more of a "must have" than the CD. Lansdowne Road is "the" concert but this is the real exhibition of just how good the Corrs are musically. Due to the relatively controlled atmosphere of the studio & record production, there is less of the usual audience interaction that we see in most concert DVDs but there is sufficient by-play between the 4 (esp F-demented episode) to retain that light touch.
Unplugged in my mind is a "shut the x&%%%222" exercise and all the various aspects are clearly evidenced:
- Andrea's quality as a lead vocal in various tempo numbers - The musicianship of all 4 siblings (in Jim & Caro's case on multiple instruments), in particular Jim's capacity as a piano accompanist - Little Wing highlighting Anto Drennan's quality as an acoustic "dobro" guitarist. - the vocal harmonies of the 3 sisters - No Frontiers showcasing Sharon & Caro's voices in their own right. Whilst was already a concert number, Unplugged advertised to the world that the "other sisters" were a lot more than just backing harmonies. - the palpable enjoyment in what they were doing, evidenced by the big smiles, winks and other subtle little gestures.
The "star" of Unplugged ?? Afew good nominations (including the Irish Film Orchestra) but my award actually goes to the mighty Caro !! I hope the relevant union was watching cos she was everywhere ..... drums, bodhran, bongos, harmony vocals, tambourine, piano ...... and up-front duet all with aplomb. Perhaps even a note of comedy ..... with F Demented. More importantly, her love of what she is doing is always being communicated; be it rapt attention in the music or dirty great big smiles (even during numbers) with other band members and/or the audience.
