It's the American in me coming out: here in America, no matter where you come from, if you're living here now then you're American. But you're right. Brahms was German, yup, living in Austria and writing Hungarian Dances. Complicated man! Hehe CW, thanks for your post and really interesting observations. That one about the Corrs not performing "Closer" ever since Lansdowne Road is fascinating. I think you very well may be right. I think it would be great if someone would start a gig archive like, for example, the one that Bryan Adams fans have HERE. Thanks for the Rachmaninov observation about the "spiraling". I always find that stuff interesting. I know that all the Corrs are well-versed in classical piano, so it wouldn't surprise me if they incorporated such things into their music. With time, Jim may grow old and the girls may become more "matronly", but their potential to go on creating amazing music remains. Only time will tell (because it appears, at least for now, that the Corrs won't!) What you say about that concert - the powerful flow of energy between the Corrs and the crowd - is what makes the Lansdowne Road DVD my favourite. One can sense it even on the DVD. I know it's a slow time for the Corrs and our members here are mostly playing games and having fun ;D which I like, but it's also very nice to have some thought-provoking posts about the music. Thanks for your post, Wombat! ;D

I know this is a very old topic, but as a new member, I just have to say that Closer at LR is one of my favorite Corr songs of all time. The charisma of this song just leaps off the screen. I love everything about it.

I love everything about it. Leslie, I'm very pleased that you love "Closer" too! It seems to have a lot of fans here! Unlike some boards, we love it when the old topics get revived with a new post, with an opinion, statement or insight. There are many topics that are "ongoing" in nature. Just as an example, the topic where people choose their three favourite tracks from each Corrs album is always interesting to read.
