Okay, you have just won a contest. The winner gets to select ANY song, and the Corrs will record it. WHAT song would you choose and WHY?

this ones easy-Don't Worry baby " by the Beach Boys. It used to be God only knows but then they did that at the Queen's jubilee! I would choose this because its my fav love song of all-time(even though i found out years later its about a car, lol).

I´d say "Luca" by Suzanne Vega...though yet again I believe that song should not be touched...I love it the way it is now....ach this is too hard for me to answer....but I love the question though and I am looking forward to read what everyone thinks about this!

Okay, I would request a song by Don Henley and Glenn Frey (of The Eagles), maybe "After The Thrill Is Gone" or "Desperado."

Turns out they're divorced now. But he produced many of her albums and they were married for a few years.

Desperado Yeah could work although it probably calls for a lower vocal register than Andrea's. Karen Carpenter's is the best female run at this one and she was an alto. My nom is actually quite a "left-fielder" as it is actually one for Jim !! I've got a real sneaky suspicion that the Corr's could really have some fun with Van Morrison's "Bright Side of the Road". Why : - We all know that Jim can sing, and most have wanted him to have his number !! - It's Irish, and it's a number which they can all have some fun with and can also get the audience "in" with them. - A song he could play from the piano (which is his best instrument). - The harmonica pieces can be easily be subbed by Sharon's violin. Also suspect that the arrangement can be played around with for Anto to have some fun. - All three sisters on backing !! He may be frequently torment them (singularly or collectively) but I can't see them leaving him in the lurch.

I was thinking more along the lines of a Linda Ronstadt: www.dailymotion.com/video/x31h2r_linda-ronstadt-desperado-tsp-nashvi_musicI'm sure that the Corrs could put their own signataure twist on their version. I remember hearing the version by The Carpenters and liking it. My nom is actually quite a "left-fielder" as it is actually one for Jim !! You know, I've always wanted to hear Jim sing too - I know that he CAN, even though for some reason he hasn't sung as much in the latter releases. I was watching and hearing his vocal part quite a bit in the Montreux 1998 concert. I also watched him sing his little part in "God Only Knows" from the Party at the Palace DVD. That would be interesting to hear the girls sing harmonies. I'm not sure that I'm familiar with that Van Morrison song, though.

Don't think the ladies would have ANY problem with the harmonies side of things. The only difference is it's not Sharon & Caro in unison with Andrea or Andrea & Sharon, but backing a male voice (Jim) Re Van, I'm probably just showing my age. Maybe it's also the fact that this is one of the very few songs that I actually sing when performing in public. I suspect that you may have heard it somewhere. Here's a short excerpt. profile.imeem.com/40B8uB/music/GdkPf4bV/van_morrison_bright_side_of_the_road/

You know, I was going to listen to this and I didn't have time. Then I forgot! I just listened. I don't think that I ever heard it! There are only a handful of Van Morrison's songs that seem to get radio play here. I think that he just released a new album.

It's on his biggest hits disc. And I can agree he would struggle for airtime (esp in the states) due to being so tricky to categorise. During my recent discussion with "somebody" a few months back, the boozy discussion got around to numbers we'd like to see the band cover. Maybe, I'm also showing my age but the following numbers stuck in my mind and when raised, got some agreement. The first was one for Sharon. Her vocal texture can have a slightly nasal quality with even a slight "American" twang to it. With that in mind, she could well stick a toe into a little "country crossover" material. She's not a "belter" but the song I have in mind doesn't require that. The song is the Crystal Gayle hit from the mid 70's "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue". Just think it could be a good fit for her voice. Perhaps she could nudge that deadbeat brother of hers to back her on piano; he is one very fine piano accompanist. au.youtube.com/watch?v=F5JNtxeJLQ4The other is another oldie but one suspect they heard growing up with their parent's "playlist". Bono once described them as "the Carpenters dressed in Versace" and he is on the money in a number of ways. The deeply melodic strain in their music, the tight vocal harmonies and Andrea at her best possesses similar vocal qualities to those of Karen Carpenter. These being tremendous presence, a natural almost conversational ease and control and moreover the facilty for peeling away the outer layers of a song and getting to its emotional core and communicating it intimately to the listener. The song is "Goodbye to Love", quite probably the original "power ballad". If you listen to it through to the end, you will see the OTHER key reason for picking it. Bear in mind his WCID efforts, Mr Drennan let loose on that outro would be the definitive "pig in mud" au.youtube.com/watch?v=FdG-ITxL8ok
