Here is a translation of an interview of Jim and Caroline during the promotion of Home in Spain.
Question: What did motivate you to return to your native roots and release an album that reflects trad. Irish music?
Caroline: We came from making four pop albums, and we believed that now was the moment to make such a album. We took some time hoping to do it and, well, emotionally the time as come.
Question: How do you feel about making an album dedicated to your mother, and above that using her songs?
Caroline: Well, these songs are not from our mother, they are old songs that our parents used to play together a long time ago. My mother wrote the lyrics in a small book and from that came our inspiration.
Question: In this album we can ear Sharon singing a solo song. When will Caroline do it?
Caroline: I don't know. (laughs) This song was perfect for Sharon, it's a very beautiful one and Sharon sings it very well so we decided to put it on. But it's not about every one of us should sing in solo. Maybe in the future, I don't know.
Question: Will the return to your roots in Home be extending to your next works?
Caroline: I hope so, but we're not sure. It depends if people like this record and if we want to make another one like that.
Question: This question is for Caroline, I have a big doubt: Will you never play drums again?
Caroline: I knew you would ask me that! (laughs) I know people on the net ask it. Yes, I’ll play drums again. I had two babies and keep playing was hard because playing two hours in the set spends a lot of energy. I don't know when I'll be grabbing drumsticks again, maybe when I'll have time and can make it, but I'm always running from my kids to join the band and it's hard to find time for everything. But I'll be back (smiles).
Question: Jim, is that right that Forgiven Not Forgotten tells us about a fight between you and Andrea in which you took away an eye form her teddy bear?
Jim and Caroline: Laughing out loud
Caroline: They know everything!!!
Jim: No, no and NO! I never took an eye from a teddy bear of Andrea!
Caroline: The lyric of this song comes from a bear with one eye only that Andrea had on her bed, but it’s a childhood memory, it has nothing to do with Jim. I remember that bear perfectly. It was very, very old.
Question: Do you feel embraced by the Spanish fans?
Jim: Yes, a lot. The Spanish audience was always fantastic, very energetic and enthusiastic, since the beginning till the end of our shows. We all enjoy very much playing here.
Question: What do you feel when you see that there are hundreds of people waiting in a line for hours and hours to see one of your shows? I said it!
Caroline: It's amazing! Thinking of all that community, because so many persons together make a community come to see you in unbelievable. This summer I came to see it the other way around. I went to a U2 show in Palau Sant Jordi which is huge. I remember walking and can't see the end of the line of people to enter and I imagined U2 in the dressing room not being able to watch all these people who had spent hours and hours to watch them back. Well, I'm taking too much time talking about U2 am I? (laughs) But it's that it was very funny for me to be on the other side, you know?
Question: We all have or had idols that we want to be like or follow. Who have been your roll models?
Caroline: Jim, my brother is my idol! No, ahahah, I'm joking. I don't have idols that I can say " Uuhhhhh", there are a few persons that we respect a lot. I love U2 and Prince, but they are not my idols.
Jim: I admire Nelson Mandela as a human being. As far in the music world I love Sting, James Brown.
Question: What have been your best and worst concerts in your life?
Caroline: I know which was the worst! It was at the beginning of our career and honestly we were bad. It was in Ireland. I believe that there were less than 15 persons seeing us and they looked bored. It was terrible.
Jim: Or also when we saw ourselves at 7 a.m. in a rainy day, singing a serenade to a girl. Her fiancé had won a contest and this was the award. So we had to wake her up at 7 a.m. singing to her "I would runawayyyy"
Caroline: (laughs) This was the American promotion.. I don't know how we got into that. We were like: What are we doing here?
Jim: And the best? Every one in Spain was very good, really! But the best…
Caroline: The one we did earlier coming home to Lansdowne Road in Dublin. It was overwhelming.
Question: Can you recommend me one of your songs to listen to while I make love?
Jim: To make love? Aahahaha! I don't know...
Caroline: Runaway? Ahahaha
Jim: Forgiven Not Forgotten? Ahahah. I don't know..
Caroline: Anyone. As long as you make it right. Ahahaha.
Question: How it was to sing in Castellano (Spanish)? Have you thought on doing it again?
Caro: We did a song with Alejandro Sanz. I only did back vocals so with wasn't hard for me and Andrea is quite good for idioms. It didn't cost her much. I don't really know if we'll do that again.
Question: Andrea said recently in a interview to "The Mail" that the band suffered delicate moments and thought about splitting up. Is the future of The Corrs uncertain or can we enjoy from you in plenty of years time?
Jim: We always said that our love for music would keep us together and I believe that will not change in a long, long time.
