hey, does anybody of you know them? they're awesome! Thanks, Caro, for letting me know about this band. I have never heard about them, even though they are from California, my home state. (...shows you how bad our radio stations are here ). I'll have to find out more... especially since I highly regard your taste in music! Thanks!

hehe, well, I guess it's not SUCH a surprise that you don't know them, I didn't know them, too And there's even only ONE website about them, I found til now. The one I posted the links of, hehe, you should really listen to a few songs there, especially number 4!!!! WOW! i love that song! really really really! Unfortunatly there isn't a listening example for "the gates of the country" which seems to be my absolutely favourite song of them but, there's an example for "Time ago"

My favourites "Time Ago," "Wash It Away"; and "Gates of the Country";. Reall great musicians! I can only recommend them! I bought the Black Lab CD, Your Body Above Me, after reading Caro's post recommending it. I have listened to it many times now. I have taken it with me to work, and also my wife and I listened to the CD while driving to our camping trip last weekend. She and I really like this band and their sound! What a great lead vocalist (Paul Durham)! I agree with Caro's picks of the best three tracks (is she ever wrong about music?), but I also like "Sleeps With Angels" and "Ten Million Years." It is one of those albums that takes a few times through listening to it to fully appreciate the songs. Black Lab released Your Body Above Me in 1997, and only NOW they are releasing the follow-up CD called See The Sun . Their website that Caro posted right now is offering a free MP3 download of one of the new tracks called "Remember." Here's a chance for everybody to listen to them! Here, I'll make it real easy: HERE is a 90 second sound clip from the title track, "See The Sun." Good pick, Caro! ;D ...and welcome back too! ;D

WHOA!!, I just learned that if you keep listening to the link HERE, you can hear samples of SEVERAL of the new songs from Black Lab!! They are great!! ;D And HERE are SEVERAL 90 second sound samples of Ten Million Years, an album of songs by Black Lab's lead singer Paul Durham recorded during the 1990's. On these samples, I left my computer unattended for about 20 minutes, and when I came back it was playing completely different songs. Those songs were unbelievable! Wow. Good things come to those who wait! After listening to these samples, I am going to have to get this one too (eventually)! I just bought some albums from the Black Lab website. blacklabworld.com/ After your purchase, there's a message that says: "YOU RULE!!" ;D

I got the new album See The Sun and I am really liking it. It's a strong album, start to finish, with every song a good one! ;D Right now, I am really liking a song called "Ecstasy" in which Paul Durham sings duet with Eve Hill, the bassist (cool , a girl bassist!). But I like all the songs on this brand new album. In some ways, I'm glad Caro only this year introduced me to this great band, otherwise I would have gone crazy waiting from 1997 until 2005 for the SECOND album to come out! Now I want to get the Ten Million Years album featuring Paul Durham's solo work... the samples sound great.

I like especially these great melodies in the refrains Really great @all the others: I can only recommend you this album and this band if you're interested in good Rock music That is a REALLY excellent remark about the refrains, Caro. On "Tell Me Why" I love the melody of the bridge section " maybe you think I'm gone or just crazy in my own world..." I also recommend this album very highly and I'm really grateful to Caro for letting us know about Black Lab! I wish more people knew about this band and this album See The Sun... but now this sounds really familiar *lol*... I feel the same about the Corrs and Home!

hehehehe ;D You're right! The bridges mostly have great melodies, too I also really like the bridge of "Wide open" I believe in love, I believe in faith, I believe that love will find her way... It has something mysterious, hasn't it? it fits perfectly into the song
