Rebecca LavelleI have to say that, after hearing Bec Lavelle sing, I think she's a GREAT singer. The first song of hers that I heard was "My Heart Is Like A River" and it really astounded me! Here's her MySpace profile: www.myspace.com/beclavelle Today, I got McLeod's Daughter, Vol. 2 in the mail: I think it's outstanding. Rebecca has such a beautiful voice - pure in tone, perfect in pitch and then she adds an emotional quality to her songs. She sings her own backing vocals and they are incredible. She is GREAT!! If you can get a hold of either one of the CDs of McLeod's Daughters songs, I recommend it highly, especially to fans of the Corrs, since we seem to share a lot of musical tastes. This is coming from someone who has not seen a single episode of the TV series. Her official website: www.rebeccalavelle.com/

It´s soooo cool that we´re having a "Rebecca Lavelle" thread now. Thanks for opening it, Cynthia!
I really love her music and especially her voice. She has an amazing voice. It´s so diverse, she hit´s the high notes, but also the lower ones, she can sing loud and quiet, ballads, uptempo songs, everything. And it all sounds great.
Swanny and I have been hearing the Mc Leods soundtracks on our ways to and from Denmark. That was really cool.
I´m sooooo looking forward to her first own album.

Hey Steve, it´s wonderful that you´re having the soundtrack now. Do you also have the first one? Sabine, I have heard Vol. 1 thanks to Cynthia, but I don't own it yet. I think it starts getting really great at Track #7, "Am I Crazy?" Samples of Vol. 1 store.nzmusic.com/cd/31333Samples of Vol. 2 store.nzmusic.com/cd/35210I also found another MySpace page that has more samples of Bec Lavelle's songs: www.myspace.com/rebeccalavelle1988

Yes, Caro, that´s so true and I think that´s really rare nowadays, that a great musician has such a great personal contact to her fans. That´s really cool.

Rebecca LavelleI thought I'd give an explanation for those who don't know anything about Rebecca Lavelle, especially other Americans. I hadn't heard of her either, until Cynthia introduced me to her music just a few weeks ago. Okay, how can I explain it.... Okay, remember the TV show Ally McBeal? Many of the songs appearing in that show were sung by Vonda Shepard. Well, likewise, there is an Australian TV show, one of the most popular there called McLeod's Daughters, and Rebecca Lavelle is the singer for the show in much the same way as Vonda is for Ally McBeal. If you like the Corrs, I think you probably would like Bec Lavelle. I bought the 2nd volume of her music for McLeod's Daughters and it is excellent. I highly recommend it (if you can find it). ANOTHER reason for our enthusiasm for Bec Lavelle is how great she is with the fans on MySpace. She writes the fans directly herself and she considers each fan as a friend. It's really incredible. I recommend any MySpacers out there to add her to your friends list. She's really a great person, above and beyond her incredible talent as a musician. Okay, I hope that explains why we've been posting about Rebecca Lavelle like crazy around here at a time when the Corrs are extremely quiet. Also, some of our members are rather hooked on the TV show, McLeod's Daughters.
