Simone, thank you for the A-Ha. I think that there are others here who know and like their music. (I don't know it well - I only know "Take On Me"). I think Joseph (SoYoung) is big into A-Ha. I will listen to your links later today. Brownie, RadioBlogClub worked this time. Before it was not working. I still could not get the Deezer links to work. I think that I agree with you - I prefer the Plumb version. Christina is certainly an excellent singer - I'm just not really a big fan of her genre of music. She's good, though. I do recognize her talent.

Thank you, Simone... I really like A-Ha as well... Although, not just their early songs.. I think some of their recent recordings are pretty good too, ..such as their albums "Analog", & "Minor Earth, Major Sky" ...Morten Haarket is a fantastic singer.. What else am I into, atm?? *thinks* ..Oh, I've been listening again, after a long time away, to Frida (from ABBA) ...her old solo work, aaaannnd, some stuff I'd never heard before!!! ;D She still blows me away, every time!!! A very amazing lady.. ;D I really do hope she makes a come-back this year.. She's supposed to make an album with ex- Deep Purple member, Jon Lord.. Otherwise, ..has anyone heard the new album from Duran Duran, called "Red Carpet Massacre" ?? Quite a surprisingly good album too, if you like dance music.. I've been kind of a fan though, since their early days, ..the early 8O's ... ;D

Caroline Lavelle...she plays cello with Loreena McKennitt quite a lot which is how most know her music anyways. I know a few months ago Steve pointed out to me that she had a myspace profile and it slipped my mind to check it out until recently. carolinelavelle.com/www.myspace.com/carolinelavelleI really enjoy her music! I just got her cd Spirit last week in the mail, not an easy album to find but I got lucky and found it cheap on ebay. There is only 2 more albums which should be a tad more easier to get so I don't have much catching up to do. Here's some videos: youtube.com/watch?v=97WnBC516rIyoutube.com/watch?v=tiCxI_oZplQ Not really listening to anything new right now, any cds i've bought lately have already been out for a while.

Thanks, Mindy for the Caroline Lavelle links. She makes being a cellist very cool! I really like some of the songs that she has had at her MySpace page. One that I really like isn't there anymore - it is called "So Uncool" (You can hear it HERE).

I like that song Steve, i'm waiting for the cd to get back in stock so I can buy it I'm not a huge Heart fan but i'm addicted to Barracuda right now. I love this video, they sang on ellen degeneres' 50th birthday show last week. Ellen is playing the song on guitar hero(not sure which one) and then introduces the band. youtube.com/watch?v=os9tk91mm-QI hate the comments aimed towards ann wilsons weight though, who cares what she looks like? She can still sing great that's all that matters.

Haha that was funny... that introduction by Ellen! "Barracuda" is a great song. Thanks for that. I used to play the Little Queen LP all the time. I have been watching En händig man på turné, the DVD of Per Gessle's concert in Stockholm, Sweden on 12 August 2007. I also have been watching more of the Concert for George. Great stuff!

I just bought The Essential: Heart a few days ago, i'm really liking it! I know more of their songs than I thought I did, I just never really knew who sang them lol. It's 2 cds with 37 songs alltogether These Dreams has always been one of my fav songs, you got to hear Nancy sing lead for once. www.amazon.com/Essential-Heart/dp/B00007E8W2/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1202082098&sr=8-1Lol @ Linda about records! I own all of Pat's and a few of them are still sealed ;D you gotta love ebay

That Essential Heart is a good buy, Mindy! I've loved their stuff ever since hearing "Crazy On You" while riding on a school bus during a field trip. That's a WHILE ago. But I'm happy to say that they're still making great music. Talent has a way of lasting. Among other things, I have been listening to a Belgian band called Woodface that my dear friend Cynthia got me to listen to - it's the band that Gert Bettens, brother of Sarah Bettens, another well-known Belgian artist, is playing in now. They are more of an "alternative" band, but I think they're good. I'm lucky to have friends in Europe who tell me about what's good in that part of the world. Since I became a Corrs fan, I have certainly become more aware of what's happening outside of the U.S. and, given my dislike of hip hop and gangsta rap, it's a good thing. As LindaJ and I have been discussing, it can be difficult when there's great music but it's in a language we don't understand, such as Swedish, French or German. It's still good, I think, because music is a universal language, but it does make it a bit more work to follow.

Ann Wilson- Hope & Glory. I wasn't even aware that she released a solo cd in september last year until I added her myspace page recently. It's all cover songs but she definitely makes them her own. I must say I enjoy the whole cd which is not something I can say often. Guest vocals include: Kd Lang, Elton John, Shawn Colvin, and a few others including her sister Nancy of course. It's hard to choose a fav song but I did like Goodbye Blue Sky right away. www.myspace.com/officialannwilsonI'm also enjoying the new B-52's song Funplex. It's just upbeat and fun like all their music. I'll get the new album when it comes out. www.myspace.com/theb52s

I'm thinking that I might want to get that Ann Wilson CD! She's really great. Thanks for the MySpace links. I didn't even know that the B-52's are still making music. I am still being a Roxette/Marie Fredriksson/Per Gessle/Gyllene Tider fanatic. Since being introduced me to this vein of Swedish rock/pop, I have been making all kinds of enjoyable musical discoveries. I have been still watching En händig man på turné DVD quite a bit. That band is amazing and somehow Gessle's music really captures my imagination. Most of Per Gessle's recent music was recorded in a little studio in the rural Sweden called "The Aerosol Grey Machine," an analog studio with lots of vintage equipment and two live echo-chambers. The music sort of builds upon neglected roots/traditions of late 60's/early 70's and, like the Corrs, is strong on melody and hooks. The music is enhanced by the quaint vocal-style of Helena Joseffson and the influences added by producers Clarence Öfwerman (keyboard) and Christoffer Lundquist (guitar, banjo, clarinet, etc., etc.). Really great stuff!! (Though much is in Swedish). I've also been enjoying Heart (partly rekindled by the interest shown by Mindy); Wir Sind Helden (thanks to Swantje for telling me about this amazingly great band from Hamburg); quite a bit of ABBA and Frida (because of LindaJ's enthusiasm) and I learned about Henri Salvador from Simone. What a talent he was! Also, I have been listening to Ilse DeLange a lot over the last few months. I love the clarity of her voice. The common thread in all this is that I probably wouldn't have known about all this great music if it hadn't been for other Corrs fans!

I'm glad I got you more interested in Heart as of recently ;D And thanks for putting up with my long myspace comments lol! Of course I totally take back what I said in a previous post about not being a huge Heart fan, that's changed for sure! As part of my buying spree I purchased a bulk of their albums most of which i've listened to already. Including: Little Queen, Dog and Butterfly, Bebe Le Strange, Rock the House Live, Heart, Brigade, Bad Animals and Magazine. I'm waiting for Passionworks, Dreamboat Annie and Jupiters Darling to come in the mail. But of the ones I have and listened to I have to say I like each one in their own way. All the eras of music are good I want to order The Road Home sometime soon as well as the concert cds to go along with the dvds they have out. Private Audition is hard to come by on cd without paying a ton of money so I guess it's the only one I won't have I bet amazon.com is loving me right now i've given them enough of my money in the past month haha.
