LoL!!!!! Thanks to all your discussions here, I've just downloaded "The Road Home -Live" by Heart.. ;D ;D It's kind of like, an acoustic "hits" album, it's quite good.. Thanks for all your suggestions.. It's funny how we all seem to influence each other here, with all our music tastes.. ;D

Hi everyone, i gotta say that i´m quite hit by Katie Melua at the moment. Especially her blues songs like "Crawling up a hill" or "On the road again"...listened to those songs when i was in a hurry driving my bike...guys, with THAT music on i drove even faster! but what´s also nice: I listened to some old Corrs songs...it´s sooooo cool to come back to the ROOTS after quite a break!

Hi Caro!! ;D I can only imagine what it must have been like to see Katie Melua up close like that and how inspiring it might be. "Crawing Up A Hill" is certainly a great song for riding a bicycle. Speaking of bicycles, there are nine million bicycles in Beijing! That's a fact! Caro, it's so great to have you stoppin' by the board! Yes, it's always great to listen to the Corrs (or any good music) after a break in time. @ Wiku - I listened to one of Ahmad Dhani's song (Kamu Kamulah Surgaku). I thought it was good! What is it that makes him controversial? Is it the lyrics (which I don't understand, of corrs), the music, or something about Ahmad Dhani himself?

I am really, really impressed by some of the music on the latest album by Australian singer/songwriter, Missy Higgins. She has a song at her MySpace Page called "Where I Stood" - it's an AMAZING song! It's been out about a year but I only just noticed it. I thought that it's interesting that the producer for this album is none other than Mitchell Froom (the producer for, I think, three of the albums of the Corrs: MTV Unplugged, VH1 Live in Dublin; and Home). Anyway, give "Where I Stood" a listen!

I've been re-discovering the 80s.. LoL!!! ;D ..Do you remember this band?? I used to like them, in the 90s.. They reminded me of ABBA, abit.. I thought they were done, ..ages ago, ..but, it seems they had another CD from this decade that was new to me, called, "Da Capa" ..I quite like it, ..easy going, happy music.. Otherwise, ..do you remember the 80s?? ;D ..This guy's name is Limahl (which is his last name "Hamil" spelled backwards) ..He has a great voice.. Sang songs such as "Too Shy" , "Only For Love", "Too Much Trouble" ..80s pop.. I guess, mostly appealing to girls.. But, check out his hair.. I thought it was totally cool, ..in the 80s.. LoL!!! ;D Not all I'm listening to.. But, I have quite a varied taste, you could say.. ;D

yeah, I still like 80's music too... french and from outside... I was a huge fan of Ace of Base back then ... still have some tunes on my playlists (The sign, All that she wants and more)! At this time, I'm listening to Rondo Veneziano very often... I've started to love classic after I heard them for the first time... classic was kinda "boring" for me then

Hi Linda! Nice to see you here! I remember that brief period of time when Ace of Base ruled the American charts. They were very good! I also remember that "Too Shy" song, but I never knew until your post, Linda, who it was that sang it. Thanks for the information! Great to have some fans of the 80's here. I have to say missed at least some of it. THIS was one of my favourites of the early 80's. I just bought the new albums by Priscilla Ahn and Missy Higgins. I am also really liking a rising Dutch singer named Bertolf Lentink. He was with a band called The Junes and was in the band of Ilse DeLange this year. I also finally got the latest album from Bryan Adams.

It made an impression.. I love her voice, it's amazing!! Just wish I could find some better quality recordings, ..any suggestions?? I know, the 60s were a long time ago.. LoL!!!

Hi, everyone... for the moment, I'm not falling for artists or albums, but for some songs that I listen to, over and over: Joan Armatrading - "The Weakness In Me" Erin Mc Keown - "How to be a lady" Ron Sexsmith - "Tell me again" Leonard Cohen - "Coming back to you" Tracy Chapman - "Say Hallelujah" Shirley Bassey - "Where do I begin" Alice Smith - "Dream" Au Revoir Simone - "The Lucky One" Dan Zanes - "Hop Up Ladies" Federico Aubele - "Esta Noche" Ferron - "Testimony" Indigo Girls - "Closer To Fine" Mariachi Los Camperos - "Quiza, Quiza, Quiza" Mike Clark - "Threes & Fours" Nick Cave & The bad Seeds - "Into my arms" & "People Ain't No Good" Sattalites - "I'm gonna be the one" Fantcha - "Sol Ja Camba"... The list can go on and on... Here is "Dream" by Alice Smith... she's very talented and the rythm in her song is hard to get! "Into my arms" by Nick Cave: "Tell me again" by Ron Sexsmith: and finally, Shirley Bassey's Remix for "Where do I begin" (I don't appreciate remixes most of the time, but that one sounds good ): As you can see and hear, those songs are from various styles... from latin to reggae, pop or country... well, that's me!! ;D

That certainly is a wide range of music!! Out of all those YouTubes, I have to say I liked Shirley's the best.

Hi Talking about Ilse Delange... I also really like her voice, Steve... lately, I've listen to her album "World of hurt" and it's pretty good! At Deezer.com, I've discovered a live performance too and it's awesome Here's a YT vid of one of my favourite song "Don't you let go of me":

Nice to not be alone. Thanks for that one. World of Hurt was hugely successful in the Netherlands. Here's an excellent live TV acoustic version of Ilse singing "Reach for the Light" done with guitar assistance from Arnold van Dongen and Bertolf Lentink: nl.youtube.com/watch?v=K4a-upyTUfY&fmt=18Some of Ilse's songs, like this one perhaps, take a few listens before you can begin appreciate them; at least that has been my experience. I couldn't resist adding this catchy bit of tune from the World of Hurt album called "I'm Not So Tough": nl.youtube.com/watch?v=FDql1O78ea0
