In March this year, Bertolf performed some songs by artists who have inspired him, including The Beatles, James Taylor, John Mayer and Rufus Wainwright. He covers them all on solo guitar as part of Onder Invloed ("Under the Influence"): onderinvloed.com/home/2009/07/session-bertolf/(Probably my final chance to ever make a fan out of Simone, hehe, and finally get a French flag at my fledgling Bertolf forum. ) Just a sample: HQ

There's a new single coming out by a rather popular artist in Holland (VanVelzen) that is written by Bertolf. He's also co-written a couple of tunes that appear on the CDs of other artists: Here is a duet with Sanne Hans (Miss Montreal) called "Won't You Let Me Have My Way With You": HQAnd here's a song called "Welcome the Sun" co-written by Bertolf that is sung by Stevie Ann with some backing by Bertolf: HQ(I may have posted these somewhere else before - sorry!)

Bertolf wrote a song called "Other Side of Me" that he felt somehow didn't fit on his album, so he gave the song to Roel van Velzen, a popular crooner in the NL. It was just released as VanVelzen's latest single: It seems to me that Bertolf has written the ideal song to be butchered by talent show contestants on TV! I can also envision his song being picked up and performed for the UK market - maybe by a group like Westlife. He recently came back from London where he wrote at least three new songs in four days. According to his recent Tweet, he is also working on an Irish trad song, "Mary and the Soldier" - perhaps the song that has been covered by Paul Brady and Bob Dylan (amongst others).
