Steve... I would like to know your top 15 Roxette songs too??!!! If you already posted it... Please tell me where, cos I think I must've missed it?? ;D I have been listening to a lot of Roxette since I got my RoxBox; Cynthia introduced me to some of my favourites quite a while ago as well. There are two very good songs that I didn't put on my list. These are "It Must Have Been Love" and "Listen To Your Heart", songs that get loads of airplay, so I went for other songs to put on my list. Here's my list, not necessarily in any order: 01. The Look 02. Run To You 03. Crash! Boom! Bang! 04. You Don't Understand Me 05. Milk And Toast And Honey 06. Never Is A Long Time 07. My World, My Love, My Life 08. So Far Away (Hotel Room, Buenos Aires version) 09. The Heart Shaped Sea 10. Fingertips (Unplugged Version) 11. See Me 12. Crush On You 13. The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye 14. Breathe 15. A Thing About You There are a lot more; I missed so many good ones and my list is ballad-heavy, but I do like ballads. I enjoy listening to the demos too. For example, I like Per's demo for "Milk And Toast And Honey".

Bonus Tracks:
16. Every Day 17. Almost Unreal 18. Perfect Day
I almost included an outtake from Tourism called "Every Day" that is included in the RoxBox. It's a fantastic song, though I don't like the synthesized "muskrat" sounds on the track. "Almost Unreal" was almost there too.

Oh yes! Roxette is so cool. My best friend and I used to always sing to their songs when going to basketball or track practice. It sounded so terrible, but it was fun.
He probably still has all their CD's. I only have "Tourism" with the live version of "It Must Have Been Love." Other songs on that CD I like are Silver BLue and Come Back.
I never had the chance to see them in concert.

If I were to make a bonus CD version, I'd include: My Original List01. Breathe 15. A Thing About You 16. Every Day 17. Almost Unreal 18. Perfect Day My "Bonus" List (I know I'm missing some...) 19. It Will Take a Long Long Time [Alternative Version] 20. Little Girl 21. All I Ever Wanted [Demo Version] 22. Come Back (Before You Leave) 23. Listen To Your Heart 24. It Must Have Been Love 25. Dangerous 26. Fool 27. Secrets That She Keeps 28. Fading Like a Flower (Everytime You Leave) 29. Watercolours in the Rain 30. Don't Believe In Accidents [Demo] 31. June Afternoon 32. Soul Deep 33. The Big L 34. How Do You Do! 35. Milk And Toast And Honey [Per's Demo] This band made an unbelievable amount of great music, and they continue to do so, but only not together, unfortunately . Per Gessle has released a DVD of his summer tour and Marie recently released a collection of her solo ballads. From what I've read, Per seems as if he would be happy to work with Marie Fredriksson again, but he also keeps saying that they don't have anything planned. Even if Roxette is finished, I'm so happy that I discovered their whole catalog of music, not just IMHBL and LTYH, the two American mega-hits. I'm enjoying this collection here:

Since becoming a big fan of Roxette, I have been discovering the music of Per Gessle's other long-time band, Gyllene Tider. GT is sort of the Swedish version of the Beach Boys. But the band that I REALLY like is Per's new "Son of a Plumber" band. Here's the 2007 line up for the En Händig Man tour last summer: This band is FANTASTIC!! These old dudes are unbelievably talented. ;D (Watch a clip HERE. And Per just released an extended, remastered version of his 1997 English language solo album, The World According to Gessle, with four extra tracks on CD1 and a CD2 filled with loads of demos. I always like Per's demos. And Marie Fredriksson sings on "I'll Be Alright". And here's his famous " interview of himself" about the album.

On 26 November 2008, Per Gessle is releasing a new album called Party Crasher. With this album, he had the idea of taking grooves from old songs from the 70's and 80's and writing his own songs over top of the grooves. He talks about the album in an interview Daily Roxette. Here's what Per says about the album: "The songs are written in the '70s '80s era type of dance music. The result is a fun album that is both immediate and in your face, but also brooding and beautiful."
"My wife says the album sounds like The Bee-Gees meet Gyllene Tider. I don't really agree, but I can see her point. It has a sweet disco feeling all over it. But recognizing Per Gessle over the beats shouldn’t be a problem."
"After all these years you’re always looking for NEW spices, NEW angles, NEW chord progressions. So when this idea popped up writing to a steady beat I knew something interesting could happen. Some grooves I made myself on my computer, some grooves I found in existing songs from The Bee Gees, Chic, Donna Summer, The Human League etc. I’ve heard that Björn & Benny wrote “Dancing Queen” to the groove of George McCrae’s “Rock Your Baby”. Check those two songs out and compare and you’ll know what I mean. They’re very different but they have the same mother." The first single (already released) is called "Silly Really" and the yesterday's world premiere on Swedish radio (broadcast on Sweden TV6) is already on YouTube: ie.youtube.com/watch?v=pA9FteS1ajg&fmt=18HQ VersionWebsite: www.gessle.com/

I've heard Party Crasher! It's really an interesting album and, while some of the music is not quite my favourite in terms of genre, the songs are all great-sounding. It's one of the most well-produced albums I've ever heard. Here's a sample track: ie.youtube.com/watch?v=_XQFRqb24-4&fmt=18I found some sites for the Aerosol Grey Machine (AGM) studios where Per Gessle made Party Crasher. It's set in a very rural area - looks like a great place to be creative. The StudioRoad to the StudioWebsite: www.agmsweden.com/AGM/home.htmlMySpace site: www.myspace.com/aerosolgreymachinestudio

Roxette is still very quiet, though Per keeps on rocking with all his other projects. In 2008 he released an album called "Party Crasher" and it's really good.
