What did everyone think of Sharon's performances on Weekend Wogan? Radio was pretty good, but I can't honestly say that it was my favorite version. There was something about that particular performance that was a bit off - but I can't put my finger on what it was. I thought it was one of the better renditions of INAD. The slightly slower tempo worked well, I thought. The obvious flaw (don't shoot me, Sharon!) was not hitting the note - Wombat or Steve, is that a high D? I'm not the best with hearing notes by ear... Other than that, I thought it was good. The performance I was most plesantly surprised with was Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime. That was a great performance! I still love the violin and the piano in that piece, and I thought that Sharon sang it very well. The song is growing on me, which I figured might happen. In any case, that was a very strong performance. And as for the interview - OK, now Sharon made mention of the Corrs doing something together. Is Caroline the only one who hasn't publicly said anything? I know Jim has, and I think Andrea has, too, although I'm not 100% positive on that one. Not that I'm holding my breath or anything, but it's a nice thought. -- Marie

I was surprised that I could listen this BBC Radio Broadcast, live on the internet. (it was my first time, actually) ;D I think she's doing fine yesterday, but overall maybe not her best performance. Radio is "fine" to me. I just don't think her voice suit this song really well, TBH. I'm glad she tried to make her own mark, but I think she's making too much improvisations on this songs and that's bothering me a bit. Glad she didn't leaving her violin sound on this one and keeping the originality of the song. Definitely not my favorite version, but she's doing fine, I suppose. I think she's doing good with INAD, except the replace of the violin with that kind "wind-instruments" things in the end, which make it sound little bit different to me. Fair enough since it must be very difficult to sing and play violin at the same time, so I'm glad she still played the middle-violin part. Not so much problem with her voice I suppose, but she missed the high notes, a lot on the chorus. Well, I'm still not a fan of the slow version of EGLS which kind a bored me. It just lack something. I must say her single version much more better and hoping someday she would performed it that way. And regarding her comments about The Corrs comeback "next year" or "not in too distant future", I would keep my eyes open I'm sure they would be back someday, I even have a faith they must be, but it would happen when all the members think that they're ready for it.

INAD was good except for the fact that she has consistent trouble hitting that high note in the chorus. I think she should consider changing how she sings that note, so that people who aren't familiar with her as a singer don't think that she can't hit it. EGTLS was performed well but the slow version isn't my favorite because it is a little boring for me. I'm liking the album version a lot more--the changes have given the song some life. I think EGTLS will fit in nicely with the rest of the songs on the album, since it seems like most of the songs are pretty laid back (at least among the songs we've heard that have made the album).

Concur totally re INAD. That song could quite easily be sung very softly ... without having to reach into the top of her register which has, indeed, proven unreliable. Radio was the weakest of all the performances .... she sounded very "tight" and correspondingly was singing a lot higher that usual and than is comfortable for her. EGTLS was very, very good. Still not a fan of the song which is not Sharon's fault; just find the song a dirge. With regards to slow/faster version; it was probably more practical to go with the slower tempo given the house band involved. Good points, Minnie regarding Sharon's vocals. She & those around her will need to be aware of what songs actually do fit most comfortably with her voice especially whilst on the promo beat. INAD has proved "elusive" in most instances & during the 09 promos, it was OI that proved her best option. Sharon deserves enormous plaudits for putting herself out there & taking the risks with these live performances but we have to be realistic and acknowledge the size of these risks. The listeners/punters/prospective buyers may most likely be making their judgement on what they hear. No matter how much she may charm everyone, what seals the deal will be the performance & the non Corr cogniscenti are likely to pass her over on performances like Radio & INAD.
