A few lucky UK domiciled fans won tickets to this concert. One considerate fan (thanks Baxterianism) sent through a signed copy of the 6 item setlist which has been posted at SCF. John Giddings (the Corr's longtime UK agent also posted a couple of aftergig photos. Taken as can be expected in the spiritual home of all Hibernians ... a pub ! Another fan did post a YT clip of her performance of EGTLS. From the signed setlist & the clip, we can identify Anto, Billy (will HE tour with her ??) & Gerry O'C. Reportedly Keith & Jace WEREN'T there. The other gent in the clip is Paul Harrington who provided b-vox on some tracks www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXD-eZCv5yIA polished enough vocal performance. I will go as far as to say that this song sits better with her voice than INAD. Will be interesting to see the final "live" arrangement. The violin, mandolin & acoustic guitar work well although an electric guitar may work just as well. It will need, however, more enhanced b-vox.

The following report from the gig was posted on CC. The poster is someone who's opinion I am not always in accord with but I feel this is a "straight enough" report and worthwhile feedback.
It was a good representation of her material and capabilities, targeted at some part no doubt, to the likes of John Giddings and Andy Murray (who were in the audience or just off-stage throughout a lot of her performance).
Sharon is developing a good on-stage rapport with her audience, joking at one point about how she came to choose Smalltown Boy whilst trying to sleep above a noisy disco in France, and chatting about how other songs like Over It and Its Not a Dream came about.
Throughout the set, Bob O'Brien was kneeling in front of the stage, and on signals from Sharon, would either tweak sound on various instrument or vocal mics - so she was definitely aiming at getting the best possible sound. They'd had a rather rushed soundcheck apparently and it had also been difficult when taking over the stage from the previous act, to set up their own equipment due to background noise and what seamed like a live radio stream playing over the venue sound system.
At one point the compere had to ask certain sections of the audience to keep the noise down as it was interfering with enjoyment of the live acts on stage - a difficult environment to work in - but Shaz made a great job of it.
Sharon had joked that her set was 'too short, I'll have to do a longer one soon', to which we all agreed. Outside, after the gig, we asked her to keep this in mind, and at one stage John Hughes had commented that 'a gig with special guests - like two sisters' might be on the offing. Now John has made statements in the past that came to nothing (like Andrea's second 'cover' album). I wouldn't put too much emphasis on this until we get something more definite, but it seemed to indicate that Andrea and Caroline could be part of a future line-up on one of Sharon's gigs?
A great night anyway (sorry to have missed you Clair) and many thanks to Sharon, John, CaroH, Anto, Bob and Billy for making time to chat with us before and after.
He added the following observation over at SCF
Oh, and if you want my honest opinion after having now seen three of Sharon's solo performances - it would appear she's definitely more comfortable and confident on stage as a solo artist than her sister was. That's just what comes across to an audience member - there could be mad paddling below the surface, whilst we just see the serene swan above.
Sharon's apparent greater self-assurance ? I would definitely agree. Vocally, she DOESN'T bring as much to the table as Andrea but on all fronts, the clear picture seems to be here is a lady who is very much at home in her own skin & secure in her own identity, both as a person & as a musician. She has also surrounded herself from the start with key people with whom she has great musical & personal chemistry but who also clearly beleive in her & this project. The laughs ... they come as part of the package.
The presence of John Giddings & Andy Murray ... very interesting with both longtime & powerful connections. John Giddings runs IOW & gave her a break last year & his agency Solo has Sharon on their books. If he is personally involved in pushing Shaz in the UK, then she is a lot better off than most.
Mr Hughes "feeding the chooks" ?? Interesting .... we'll beleive it when we see it but one can definitely see a case why they may consider this. Whereas Cazz's appearances with Andrea could be seen more as a spiritual boost for little sister; that is likely to be less of a concern. Whilst I suspect Sharon would love to have them along at some stage, I feel she is not in a position of needing that boost to her psyche. However, IF they are interested in easing back into the game in a collective sense, this would be an ideal vehicle.

I will go as far as to say that this song sits better with her voice than INAD. I think INAD is a song that she can sing well as long as her nerves don't affect her voice. When she sang it acoustically at an in-studio for a radio station, with just Anto as accompaniment, she sounded perfectly competent. She was more relaxed so her throat was more open and relaxed as well. Where I think Sharon has trouble vocally is when she lets her nerves affect her voice and then you get her having trouble with the higher notes. Hopefully with more of a steady routine of promo appearances, she'll find ways to not let her butterflies get to her and she should be able to pull off the higher notes.

Agree with much of what you say. Relaxation & maybe a slight revision of her approach to this song may alleviate these problems. Perhaps singing it as softly as possible, akin to a lullaby, may be a workable approach. My comment was based on the range of her live performances of the song, including the radio appearances with her oversized accesory .... they basically ranged from problematic to just servicable.

Some interesting further Tweets over the past 24 hours. The first from Team Sharon: "Guys, can all you fans in Germany tweet us so that we know where you are.? @sharon_corr heading there very soon. Stay tuned!"The second from a certain Belfast identity. "you might be seeing them together again real soon, but you did not hear that from me, right!" Does this give a little credence to John Cleveland Hughes' little chook feeding exercise .... dunno, but Gawd it'd please one's aural senses if it did eventuate. Another small little note. Along with her participation with the Barnardo's Young Songwriter Comp, Mrs Bonnar (thankfully not MR) is also part of the TOG's celebrity calendar for 2011. Hellen Bach has confirmed that there are some lovely photos of Sharon .... when DOES she take a bad one ? Other participants include Paul McCartney & another friend of Sharon's, Hayley Westenra. It can be ordered for GBP10.50 plus postage from www.charitygoods.com/GBP 5 from each sale goes to the Children In Need appeal.
