Flight TV: Bubblegum Club Helicruise 2006
The Irish children's Charity the Bubbleclub's annual Helicruise transported 250 seriously ill children from hospitals all over Ireland to Blessington, County Wicklow in 46 helicopters. Volunteer pilots included Jim Corr, musician with Irish band The Corrs.
The children were flown by 50 helicopters (one article says), the largest mobilisation of helicopters Ireland has ever seen, to the Avon Ri resort where they experienced a barbecue, magician, juggler, stilt walker, concert, Quazar, archery, GyroBike, karaoke, bungee running, bungee jumping, bouncy slides and castles, TV crew, speed boat thrill rides, fly pasts by the Air Corps, fire engines, Garda patrol cars.
The Bubble Gum Club was set up in 1994, to look after children with life threatening illnesses and children in crisis. For more information on the event, click the link below:
