While in its 9th week of release, the HOME album is experiencing an amazing chart performance in France. It has risen up to #11 !!! for the week of 27 November-3 December 2005. ;D www.ifop.com/europe/sondages/topalb/alb0548.stmDespite new entries in front of them, HOME GAINED 7 places in one week after being #18 last week. Perhaps the best gain of any album in the Top 20! France is loving HOME! Great job, France!

*Yay* Great news. Unfortunately in Germany the album is not in the Top50, but we will see what will still happen.

I read a post at the Corrs Club that Home went up another two places to #7 on the French album charts for the week of December 11-17, 2005! ;D Now you know why the Corrs chose Paris for the first public performances of songs from Home. www.ifop.com/europe/sondages/topalb/alb0550.stm

Wow!! Great info, Mr Steve!!! Do you think it'll reach number one? "Home" isn't too famous in my country, and it still in #39 row. How about the MTV? Where is the position of their new single?

Unfortunately, Wiku, I don't think that the "Old Town"/"Heart Like A Wheel" single made a big impression in the UK, but I think part of this is because the fans preferred to purchase the entire album. But checking the most recent French charts: www.ifop.com/europe/sondages/topalb/alb0552.stmIt looks like Home peaked at #7, then dropped to #9, and is still in the top 10! (#10). What a great run in France! Congratulations, France!

For the week ending 4 February 2006, Home is still in the Top 25 in France (#23) after all these weeks! ;D www.ifop.com/europe/sondages/topalb/alb0605.stmA question to our French members: In your opinion, what was the most important factor in making this album so successful in France? The appearance in Paris in June? Star Academy? What was it? I am trying to think of how Home could become more successful in the U.S. Early signs are that the album did not open in the U.S. with much fanfare. It's not even on the Billboard Top 100 albums list. But Billboard rankings are determined in part by radio airplay and the Corrs haven't had much radio airplay in the U.S. since In Blue. Maybe there will be some promotion around St. Patrick's Day. (?)

DazedOblivion: good question. I'm surprised too. Usually all the fans have bought the album the first month. Certaintly the advertissement made people want to discover it. The choice of "Brig Og Ni Mhaille" showed that this album is special for its traditionnal aspect. The fact that it was in a compilation CD was a proof that the band is pretty famous too. It was a good point and very important that the Corrs played an instrumental song (HTTW) at the Star Academy, because they revealed they were not just another girls band (most of people believe they're a girls band). That can make people want to discover them. There were some rumour about another Best of for march, which includes songs from Borrowed Heaven and Home. I guess o lot of people who don't know the Corrs will propably buy it.
