(I just guess what you want to ask is "rural area or city" because the word "land" hasn´t got the same meaning in English than in German. We say "Land" and mean a rural area but in English it actually means "country"....at least that´s how I learned it. I have no idea if maybe it actually can be used the way you did use it....)
