The Home CD and the All The Way Home DVD have been released. Many have sought meaning in the titles of these recent releases, believing them to be a kind of message that the Corrs have ended their run. The Corrs themselves have stated that they hope to continue making music for a long time. Jim is about to get married. Sharon is about to have a baby. Caroline has two small children. Andrea is in a long-term relationship and is making films. The big question now is: What next for the Corrs? Will they take another long break? Will they return to the studio, and if they do, will the next album be a pop album or have they started in a new direction? One thing is certain: any significant tour schedule by the Corrs will be very unlikely, although there may be some limited gigs (probably all in Europe) as in this past summer. I don't expect the Corrs will be touring Australia, Asia, or North America any time soon. This will be a real test for fans everywhere. My own belief is that Corrs will be taking a break from the biz again, and I hope it won't be as long as it was from 2001-2004! My hope is that the Corrs will be working on writing new songs, perhaps inspired as they all enter new stages in their lives. Eventually, I hope that they return to the studio to do another album. Personally, I don't care if it is a new pop album or Home II, because I just want them to continue with their music, PERIOD. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE FUTURE OF THE CORRS?

That´s a really great topic, Steve and what you´ve written above is just, what´s in everybody´s mind now, I think.
I have to admit, that I pushed this question to the back of my mind all the time, cause I just didn´t want to think about their career maybe coming to an end and all that stuff, that we all were thinking about lately. But, now that you´ve started this thread, I start thinking about it more positively. I hope that they go on and that they will record a new album and do a tour, or at least play some concerts. Well, they said, that they will probably do an acoustic version of Home with a philharmonic orchestra, if I´m right, so that´s maybe something to look forward to.
I don´t think, that they will be doing that many gigs, interviews, TV appearances or studio work during the next months, with the prospect of Jim getting married and Sharon having a baby. But, somehow (I really don´t know why, it´s just a feeling, probably because I can´t imagine it to be different), I´m sure, that they won´t take such a long break again. Well, at least not at the moment. They love doing what they do, as they say, and I think, that they will go on like that, maybe just with a little less presence in public during the next months, because of the above mentioned reasons.

I agree with what Sabine said. I don't think that their career will com eto an end very soon. The Corrs make music since they were 5 years old or even younger, who knows! haha. But I think that if you make music for your whole life, you love it and that's all you've ever done until now they won't or they simply can't stop doing it. Sure there will be breaks. Everyone needs them. But I think they'll always get back to the music. Of corrs I hope that this music will be released on a new album or something But as you all said before, I don't think they're going to tour or to the studio or anything. But I guess they'll be back! I don't know when but I hope they will You see, I just try not to think that they won't go on with their music. I just believe (but actually I HOPE) they will go on.

This is the subject i have been ignoring over on corrboard and COl because they are all such pestimistic people but you guys have a good attitude about it. I personally have loved their last 3 albums and I think the band has gotten better. I think with the girls having families and Jim getting married its perfect timing and opportunity for Andrea to branch out and fullfill her acting desires-she seems to have the most energy anyway. I think the band will go at it another 10 years making albums and doing tv appearances and dvds so thats enough for me. As far as touring i dont see alot of that in the future so what that means dazed is we better makes reservations to go see them play in Ireland ;D

Maybe Sharon will take a break, but Andrea will give a surprise to Hollywood with her marveolus film. I think the next topic is: How long the Corrs will take a break?

Woo-hoo!! ;D And of corrs, we would make it a gathering of the Corrs Fan Base ("Corrs Friend Base" ) and we could have Sabine give us that promised tour of the "Old Town" Dublin, making sure to stop at the Guinness Storehouse! ;D Hola!! ( whatever that means )

I like that thought! ;D Caro, I also really like what you had to say in another thread topic about this: And actually I'm glad that they care about family! It's much better to be fan of a band who cares about family and lives a normal and good life than rock stars who are great musicians, too, but work and work and work and then someday they simply don't have the strength anymore and...you know what happens... I like that the corrs are standing with 8 feet on the ground! yep! my opinion! hehe Yes, and if we are fans we want what is best for them. As others have said, they have given so much to us - a whole body of work consisting of loads of great songs - and maybe it's time for the fans to give back to the Corrs a respect for their desire to live their private lives and to do the right thing with their children. I DO envy those of you who were able to see the Corrs perform live and in person during the past ten years. I may have become a fan too late for that, but I will always love their music.

You sound so negative on that one, Steve. After reading what Andrea had to say about the band´s future (In the CC post a couple of days ago.) I was more than sad and frustrated as well but I do not believe that there is or will ever be a true END to the band and their music. I believe that they´ll continue doing what they love nevertheless because you´re either hooked on music or you´re not. I just believe that the band will not contiune the way they did the years back, programmed touring, one album after another...I dn´t think so. Then also, we have to consider that it already happened that they took a couple of years off for private life to develope more so we never know what happens in a year or two or three. We simply have to be patient.

You sound so negative on that one, Steve. Really?? I wasn't meaning to sound negative and I didn't have a negative thought in my head when I wrote it. The "envy" part... well maybe... but, from listening to what everybody who's been at a Corrs concert says, seeing the Corrs live and in person is an experience like no other, so I meant that in a positive way. I have had lots of email discussion about this topic with other fans and you're all exactly right: the need to be patient is something everybody agrees about.

Yes, it´s true, you did not mention the "negative" and you also closed each sentence with trying to see things as positive as possible but you know where I found the negativeness? "I may have become a fan too late for that, but I will always love their music." It ends with a positive statement but it sounds so final and sad. So, just to explain to you why I had that impression. I do not see an end there yet. Things will simply change and maybe we need to have the courage for once to go with the changes.

I think the band will take a much deserved break but as Sharon said the music will always be there so now we get to have fun knowning the band will be truly happy and fullfilled in their personal lives and also will continue to give us great music. Its nice to know Andrea will continue doing films and i bet she will do a solo album down the road.
