Carlos Núñez is a musician from Galicia who plays the gaita, a Galician bagpipe. He has become an integral part of the Galician Celtic music, and has collaborated with Ry Cooder, Sinéad O'Connor, The Chieftains. His most renowned album was 1996's "A Irmandade Das Estrelas",and included collaborations with Tríona Ní Domhnaill and Mícheál Ó Domhnaill, Kepa Junkera( musician from Spain), Ry Cooder, The Chieftains, and Dulce Pontes(Spanish). He has since moved on to including elements of Berber music and flamenco, as well as more pronounced Celtic, especially Breton, influences. He was a key collaborator in Tamiya Terashima's soundtrack of Gedo Senki (Tales of Earthsea), released in July 2006. He also released an additional album, titled "Melodies from Gedo Senki", which included new Gedo Senki OST tracks along with new tunes by Carlos himself. Nuñez was born in 1971 in Vigo and began playing the bagpipe when he was eight years old.He was invited to play with the Lorient Festival Orchestra and met Paddy Moloney of the Chieftains. He performed with the band two years later, and has been referred to as the "7th member" of the band. i love him and like his music, sorry but i don´t know to put photos. kisess guys!!!

Thanks a lot for tellings us about him. I´m gonna have a look out for his music, that´s for sure. When I was in Spain a while ago, I was introduced to Celtic music from Galicia and loved it instantly, because it reminded me so much of the Gaelic music from Ireland. You can really here that these types of music have the same origin. I´m really curious about him now

When I was in San Francisco in September, I went to the Virgin Megastore and, remembering your recommendation, Shazzy, I decided to look for music by Carlos Nuñez and I found and bought Un Galicien en Bretagne. It has "Saint Patrick's an Dro", that Simone mentioned. It's excellent and beautiful music! In at least some of his songs, he does with the Celtic music of Galicia what the Corrs do with that of Ireland: blends the traditional music nicely with contemporary. Nuñez is an incredible piper; it's easy to see why he has been asked to play with all those great artists. There are some gorgeous songs on there. And songs such as "Une Autre Fin de Terre" would fit perfectly on a Corrs record as an instrumental, methinks. Anyway, I really like the CD! ;D I listened to it yesterday while cooking and having my breakfast. ;D
