Last night I was watching the Concert for George, the concert that was held in 2002 in honour of George Harrison. On it I saw this performance here by someone that I didn't recognize: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRdQ9r5OqrUI was asking myself, "who is this singer? She's good!!" Then I discovered that her name is Sam Brown. For a while, I kept thinking that 'Sam Brown' was a MAN, until I realized that Sam Brown is a woman! THEN I remembered this post: That's a really good song ;D Then, I also made the discovery that Sam Brown sings on Jon Lord's Beyond The Notes CD - a beautiful song called "One From The Meadow" AND she also helped Jon Lord write "The Sun Will Shine Again" which is sung by Frida Lyngstad of ABBA. Interesting, all the connections!

Yaay, it worked!!!! ;D ..I forgot to say tho, please crank up your speakers... The picture quality is fantastic, but, the sound is a little low... It's Frida (from ABBA) in 1981 on a Swedish TV special.. She never did record this song (which is a shame) And, this was the first I've heard of it, so it must be pretty rare.. I don't know who's song it is, originally either... But, Wow... Frida does an amazing job with it!!! ;D ;D Hope you like it too??

Hi Linda! *waves* Thanks for posting the Frida video. She looks and sounds great in that one!! ;D "Fire And Ice" is a Pat Benatar cover. The song was written by Pat Benatar, Scott St. Clair Sheets, and Tom Kelly. I'll bet that Mindy might be able to tell you more. She's a very big Pat Benatar fan. By the way, some trivia: I recognized that name Tom Kelly from a book of sheet music that I have of late 80's/early 90's music. He is a songwriter who co-wrote some very notable songs, such as "True Colours" (Cyndi Lauper), "Eternal Flame" (Bangles), "Alone" (Heart), "I Touch Myself" (DiVinyls), "So Emotional" (Whitney Houston), "I'll Stand By You" (The Pretenders) and "Like A Virgin" (Madonna). He seems to have a knack for working with other songwriters! I had heard this was a great dvd! Yes, it's really good, Scott!!

Ha, that's about the extent of what I know Steve except for a few awards that she won for the song. And it's off the Precious Time album Frida did a good job with it though. Since Linda posted that one i'll post the original The guitarist with the tank top is her hubby Neil..he's amazing. youtube.com/watch?v=rnpUKf--VmA

Thanks, Simone. Such a sad loss for the world of music. I watched several other YouTube videos of Henri Salvador as well and started to gain an understanding of how much a legend he was and always will always be. I could see in the faces of the mourners the high regard in which the French-speaking world held for this man. That video of "Juanita Banana" - wow that's something! Hihihi.
