According to this article HERE, Sharon Corr will be participating in a panel of songwriters on Sunday, 5 October 2008 at the "The Music Show" in Dublin. The article states: Sharon Corr of The Corrs has joined the list of stars who will participate in The Music Show at the RDS this weekend.
Sharon, a superb singer and instrumentalist, and an enormously successful songwriter, has written or co-written a remarkable number of hit singles including 'Runaway', 'So Young', 'Radio', 'Long Night', and 'Goodbye', which have all helped the The Corrs gain huge international success.
Other big names added to the Music Show include Academy Award winning film director Neil Jordan and 10cc's Kevin Godley (also an award winning video director).
Sharon Corr will participate in the songwriting panel, given the teasing title 'Songs Should Have Some Bloody Meaning!'. She will join Mick Pyro (Republic Of Loose), Ronan Hardiman and star producer Dave Odlum, who produced highly successful records for The Frames, Josh Ritter and Gemma Hayes, among others. [/size][/b] I SURE would LOVE to be there to hear Sharon talk about songwriting! She is a great songwriter. What I find noteworthy lately is the fact that Sharon, the most recent mother, is the one who (at least musically) has been making the most public appearances. It does make me wonder whether her encouraging comments from All The Way Home about going on with the music was more her own view and that the others might not agree. (?)

That's very interesting!! & I just read, on *ahem* another forum, that there is a rumour of Sharon supposedly working on a solo album!! ..So, what are your thoughts on that, ..if it's true?? I guess we'll see how the story pans out over the next few days or so.. I'm wondering, ..will it be like an instrumental/violin album?? Or, will she sing as well?? This would be amazing!! A whole album of Sharon's lovely voice, accompanied by her wonderful violin talent.. I'm dreaming now.. I hope the news is true.. I need something to re-kindle my waning interest in the Corrs.. Thanks for the info, Steve..

Linda, my thoughts are to be a bit cautious from past experience, but this fan does report that Sharon is to make a solo album and, though it hasn't been confirmed, I tend to believe it. I have sensed that Sharon is not over the desire to make music, as evidenced by her appearance earlier this year with Zucchero in Dublin; her participation on Bryn Terfel's classical album; and now The Music Show songwriter panel - all while the mother of young children. It does seem from recent interviews of Jim that the Corr siblings have not been very "tightly-knit" in recent years, unfortunately. I think this combination tends to give some validation to the rumor that the next album will be another solo one, this time from Sharon. I have mixed feelings, because my biggest wish would be for the next Corr album to be from the Corrs - all together again. However, as a big fan of Sharon's contributions to the Corrs as a songwriter and musician, I am happily surprised at the thought that Sharon will be next to carry the torch. It's an exciting prospect, and yes, especially at this time in which we have had nothing for which to look forward. Now possibly we do! By the way, Sharon is looking fabulous in those pictures that are posted at that, ahem, other place. Time will tell... and right now for Corrs fans, we have a LOT of time!

I hope the Corrs will come back, someday too.. But, I'm happy too, "if" Sharon makes a solo album.. It would be a chance to hear more of her beautiful singing voice, & I hope she plays a little violin as well.. We'll see.. Thanks for the pics, Steve..

Thx Steve for the news. I for sure would buy a Sharon Corr solo cd. You're welcome! Thanks to the fan who posted it. Maybe the Corrs have gained some energy! I sure hope so - I hope that it's not just wishful thinking on the part of Sharon. After all, what Sharon wrote in this message is essentially the same as what Andrea said 18 months ago during a radio interview in 2007. As we all know, it's going to require that all four individuals decide together - all at the same time - to return, if it's going to ever happen. But it certainly is very encouraging to see what Sharon wrote! If Sharon does a solo album, it will give the fans something to anticipate and talk about just as Andrea's CD did. As long as the "embers stay hot" there's always a chance!

I'm hoping, if Sharon makes a solo album, ..that it will be better than Andrea's flop.. That was a huge disappointment to me, I'm sorry to say.. Hopefully, Sharon's will be appealing to a some-what more "mature" audience.. & she's learned from her sister's mistakes.. It is intriguing, anyway..

Apparently, Hotpress has a new article that confirms that Sharon has a solo CD in the works.
Keep an eye out for this article or any other new articles coming out confirming this. I don't want to confirm this at the Corrs Fan Base until there is some official source stating that this is actually the case.
I do believe the fans who heard it straight from Sharon, though. In such as case, wouldn't it be nice if the Corrs Official Website would awaken from its deep slumber to give us official confirmation? If I recall correctly, COW did that for Andrea's CD.
