Latest news from "She Who Must Be Obeyed". Interview last night on Irish Radio (RTE1) link: www.rte.ie/radio1/davefanning/Is the "charm offensive" already starting ?? She was on for the entire hour and covered a wide variety ... discussing and playing her wide music taste, life on the road and the "old days", "her" creative process. The main news: The album is called " Real Deal". A single is likely to be released late May/early Jun. Strings are being added this Friday. Album is still "a work in progress". IOW is ON, apparently Glastonbury and she is doing the European festival circuit ... and there will be an Irish date (to be confirmed". In her own words, she is "esctatic" about getting back on stage and this is something that she is very passionate about. We've known about Anto & Keith and she also mentioned Jason as being on-board. Given this clear indication that she's working with "old friends" and the mention of strings, my instincts are definitely suggesting that Fiachra Trench is involved. Re the family, she indicated that they haven't "gone away". It was intense for so many years and people put their own personal lives aside for so long and it was esp hard for Cazz and Andrea who jumped straight from school into this life. They are needing to "do their own things" so to speak and acting was prob Andrea's first love. She expects that in a couple of years, we will see/hear more from them.

Latest official word from the bossy one. Posted yesterday on her website:
Hey Everybody!
Wow! What an exciting time. For the last few weeks, I've been in rehearsals with Anto, Keith, Jay and Billy Farrell (on keyboards and production) and we had such a lot of fun working the new songs.... and some old ones too! It doesn't take long to click when you've been together as long we have.
So, when we will we be out there? Well, my first single is due for release at the beginning of June. Last Friday, we added strings and brass, scored by the wonderful Fiachra Trench, to some of the tracks and he did such an amazing job. I really can't wait for you all to hear it.
The dilemma now... which one to release first....
On Monday the 4th of June I appeared on the Dave Fanning Show on RTE Radio One. I had a long chat with him about my favourite music, the new album and touring.
Lastly, it looks like I'll be doing a lot of Uk/Ireland promotion in June, after which I'm scheduled to play the Isle of Wight, Glastonbury and then more dates to be decided around Europe throughout the Summer.
I shall of course let you know here about all dates and promo plans.
I'm really eager to hear what you think of the new songs and am looking forward to seeing your friendly faces at the live shows.
Until then....
As always, my love.
Sharon xxx
Suspicions confirmed about Fiachra . Billy Farrell - another Corrs "old hand" ; one wonders just HOW MANY of the old road crew will be fronting for this .... a lot of the key personnel were around for a lot of the journey.
On the promotion side of things; she's a natural !!

AWESOME news, CW! ;D Thanks for the info. I didn't get to play the interview start to finish but I did try to "fast-foward" to some of the more "pithy" parts. I can't believe we might see a single released this month!! Real Deal? Hmm! I wonder if that is one of the song titles? And great call with your speculations regarding the involvement of Fiachra Trench! By the sound of it, it's going to be very close to what I had hoped it would be! Time will tell, and it doesn't seem we have to much longer to wait.

Awesome news thx for the update CW. I can't hear the interview due to the fact I have to use a pc at the library. So is Sharon doing a small gig in Ireland on her own without any other bands?

Awesome news thx for the update CW. I can't hear the interview due to the fact I have to use a pc at the library. So is Sharon doing a small gig in Ireland on her own without any other bands? In the Dave Fanning interview she did indicate that there would be at least ONE Irish date but no specifics mentioned. Further news, she WILL be appearing on Irish TV (RTE) on May 27. Not sure whether this will be another cosy chat session OR just maybe a debut for the single ..... we'll just have to watch this space !!

Thanks for the information. I am just happy that we have an album and a tour. The fact that I'm an ocean away and not likely to see a concert... I will banish from my thoughts. It's very exciting and intriguing!

Some further (potentially) good news re "She Who Creates Great Fear Amongst Her Male Associates"
The Isle of Wight Festival WILL be televised in the UK on ITV and it is likely that some neighbouring countries may be able to receive the feed. Won't take long for the clips to appear. Not sure about the Glastonbury coverage but I suspect ITV will also be covering.
