Sharon's fan have brought her all the way from Page 4 to Page 1 (top row) in the UK Miss Twitter Tweeterwall. Every time you think of it, give Sharon a vote!! You can vote every 20 minutes. tweeterwall.mallplace.com/tw/uk/ms-twitterAny exposure right about now (people asking "Who is Sharon Corr?") is a good thing! Keep voting!

She's now 4th and about 250 off a podium spot but with THIS sort of momentum behind her ...
Sharon may be wishing that ALL of her underlings were as obedient ... and industrious. LOL

The juggernaut rolls on !! Over 3700 votes and closing in on 2nd spot .... the momentum has been remarkable.
On it's own this has been an amusing exercise and, from her Twitter reactions, Sharon is both flattered and heartened by "our" response but a wider view can be taken. I don't beleive she is targetting the "top of the charts" as such but clearly she is aware that by directly engaging the sizeable Corrs fanbase on the net she can go a considerable distance towards making this album a success.
Over the following months; a committed fanbase can facilitate a great deal by:
- demanding radio stations play her music.
- similarly pressuring record companies/distributors to release her album in their country.
It is obviously not going to work everywhere but these entities ARE reactive to public demand. From the feedback on a number of vehicles (websites/YT/Twitter); there are clearly some energised fanbases in a number of markets.
Everything to date points towards Sharon putting out a quality product, which is the prime consideration. Whilst not top 20 single stuff, there will always be a market for quality music. Sharon herself is a far more adept and eloquent public salesperson than Andrea and, given ANY public exposure, will charm the audience. Add an "engaged" fanbase pushing for airplay & release and I suspect she may land herself one of the "sneaky" successes of the next 12 months.

I get your point, Wombat. In Andrea's defense, though, I'd like to clarify that, when it comes to being on stage, Andrea is one of the most adept "salespersons" on the planet! But, let's just say that Andrea had other priorities at the time of Ten Feet High and she was going through a lot at the time. As Scott (Andypandy) has said, Sharon is going about this in the right way. Yes, I have to admit that, as a fan of Sharon, last night I was setting my kitchen timer at 20 minutes to vote as often as I can (*Ooh! It just went off - be right back! ). I'm not sure of the significance of a victory at the Twitterwall, but I do know that Sharon has taken it upon herself to self-promote, which gives her a fighting chance. She has taken it upon herself to reach out to the public in a very direct manner. She probably knows from Andrea's experiences that the record label is too cash-strapped to spend money promoting, so she is wisely energizing the fans by 'Tweeting' with them. Here in the USA, pushing for airplay is, sadly, an exercise in futility. If you were to call a radio station here in the U.S. and make a request, they'd probably laugh in your face. Corporations create the playlists based on careful *marketing studies* that take into consideration other factors than the simple thinking that "it's a great song". This is why we have marginally-talented idol contest winners selling far more records than I daresay they deserve, compared to truly talented artists who've "paid their dues". It's a pathetic state we're in here in the States. That is why I've become a sort of "musical refugee" who has been forced more and more to look for good ol' melodic pop/rock outside my country. What Sharon can do here is try to bypass radio altogether with her direct appeal to the public. It's so heartening to see the support that Sharon is receiving from the Corrs fans. I was uncertain of the support she'd have, since I assumed that a great many are infatuated with the lead singer Andrea. Now it's so important that, if the public likes Sharon's music, they support it in the best way possible: with their money - that they buy and don't steal the music. We have to support the cause of good music by helping those who make it to earn a decent living.

Otherwise, I have to vote 22 times for sharon and I continuous for dices which I can, and I invite everybody to make as me if to love you Sharon (But I think that everybody, here, loves Sharon).

Yeah, at the rate we're going here, I won't be awake to see Sharon take her rightful position! But dawn has broken in Central Europe and a new group of Corrs fans will take over soon. I've been voting three times an hour for about the past 12 hours. I did yardwork and mowed my lawn in between.

As Wombat knows, there was a period of time during voting yesterday when the Brazilians must have gone to bed and the Europeans were still sleeping, and we were only getting about one vote every five minutes. I hit my "F5" button about 20 times and we were stuck at 4999 for about 7-8 minutes. I was happy to finally see the + sign and click us to 5000. When morning dawned in Europe again, the votes started pouring in again.
This was empirical evidence that the eight years of absence by the Corrs from Australia and Asia has definitely taken its toll on the fan base in those places. But the Brazilians amaze me in their enthusiasm, since they have never had a visit.

Resposnes to her loyal & industrious subjects:
"thanks sooooo much for all the votes friends x" (2.57pm 20/6)
"Sooo amazed I'm no. 1, over 6,000 votes! Thankyou guys! But hey, don't stop now! x" (latest)
Currently a lead of 1050 votes, 3rd @ 2400 votes behind Sharon. This is apparently the "first" stage of the contest. Not sure but hear there is a Worldwide comp.

We've passed the 10,000 vote mark but there has been a major voting push by 2nd place Diana who has cut a couple of hundred off our lead. Let's keep voting, especially over this weekend. Lots of Corrs fans will be trying to follow Sharon's Glastonbury gig ...lets make sure they log their share of votes. Remember you can keep voting every 20mins.

Hey, those of you at the Corrmunity (Nyoman and Simone) - could you please get the word out to the fans there that Sharon really needs their support. The challenger is really gaining momentum - nearly +200 votes in only one hour - and we need to get some of those votes back! Thanks!!
