The voting for Sharon during the night hours (night hours in the UK, that is) was disappointing. The person challenging in the #2 spot is a contestant on a TV talent contest and has a lot of support, as a result. It looks like Sharon is way in front, but it's deceptive. For several hours last night, the challenger was getting 30 times more votes than Sharon! Sharon will fall out of #1 very quickly if Corr fans don't start helping her more. tweeterwall.mallplace.com/tw/uk/ms-twitterRemember: you can vote every 20 minutes.

Oh, it's been a fun old time !!
So far a very good day ... maybe a lot of fans waiting on/tracking Sharon's Glasto gig. At @6.40pm UK time, we have stretched the lead back out to @2575 which means they will need to spend a lot of petrol making up lost ground .... before making any !! If our own momentum doesn't slow too much, that may be difficult.
We won't hit 12,000 before Sharon hits the stage (currently 11792) but should pass it before end of night.
Now for the fun and games !! Team Diana might pee'd off that Team Shazz ain't rolling over !! They seem to oblivious to the fact that Sharon is launching a solo career and that the Corrs DID have a major intl fanbase; and consider we must be cheating ... rather than our vote being due to THAT fanbase being engaged by Sharon.
1. They are wanting to contest WHY she is in the UK section. Fact is she is entitled to UK citizenship due to marriage to a UK citizen (per section 6(2) of the UK Nationality Act 1948 and her years of residency in N.Ireland also quailify her. She is, in effect, a dual-citizen.
2. Team Diana are wanting to combine the votes of the "REAL" Diana identity and the "other" Diana on the board (which DV abandoned on 17/6). What Team Diana HAS been doing over past 24hrs and more is voting for both at the same time.
3. There seems to be some clear evidence of some cheating scams going on by some Diana voters.
4. SADLY THE MOST DISGUSTING. Some Diana supporters have taken it upon themselves to send nasty Twitter messages to Sharon .... asking her to pull out.
Will not tar all Diana fans with the same brush and it is sad that they wish to tarnish what has been a great fun activity (which Sharon's fanbase has taken to with great spirit) but those responsible for acts 3 & 4 especially are jsut showing themselves for the SAD PATHETIC ADOLESCENTS that they are.

In Corrs Online, a fan from Diana's Forum complain that they're not cheating. Hmmm....then why they have to put two Diana's identities in this competition...what the real purpose?...Strange. At least, we all knew that Sharon's fans do nothing wrong in this competition but keep voting and voting as much as we can. Who cares what they think about us? *sigh*

Besides, I don't see the challenger (either one of them) as worthy of the honour. I present my case: www.youtube.com/watch?v=owIk2ZmXtZQI rest my case! This is a very sore spot with me, because this over publicized mediocrity is exactly what is happening in the U.S. to the detriment of our once-proud musical heritage. Ah, but far from the spotlights of American Idol we have some great musicians. Here's one right here, Sierra Hull, already becoming a legend in her teens without any national TV spotlight: HQHQ

Tell me about it, Steve !! I've done some time in the Australian Idol band and have seen the phenomena up close.
Ny, the other Diana was her ORIGINAL Twitter identity which she ditched back on 17/6 and took on the new one. Agree that it should have been taken completely out of the count.
Any way, update @ 17.45 UK time, Shazz 14541 Diana 11926 Lead 2615.
We've had a good day so far, barring a major late surge and have taken back a large slice of Diana's advance from yesterday. Would expect that the 15,000 mark should be broken by tomorrow lunchtime - early afternoon in UK.
Other interesting to report. Earlier today, Shontelle_layne (who was running 3rd at the time) was removed. Why ?? We can only speculate ... nothing known

Wombat's report from the battlefront.
The 15000 vote barrier went very easily. In earlier voting, the margin eased up to 2930 before a late morning Diana surge brought in back to low 2800's. We have had suspicions for a few days of a potential merger between the "main" Diana and her olderTwitter identity as there has been a clear move to vote for both as they both seemed to move up concurrently.
At @ 12.30am UK time, they worked the switch and shot to a lead of @ 1600. Team Shaz acted quickly and got straight on to Twitter who agreed with our case. The merger was reversed, Diana 2 gone and remaining Diana with only HER votes.
We DO have good evidence to back our cases SHOULD it get really nasty. I have copies of her Tweet of 17/6 abandoning the old ID and of her Tweet from the weekend saying that this ID was OUT of the comp. Her team still proceeded to add @1700 votes to it's tally.
Hopefully that's the end of THAT. This really has been a wonderful bonding experience for the Corr netbase with all the boards pulling together and all parts of the globe really getting into this effort. Let's hope it does not become poisoned beyond repair with people getting into the gutter. Our team has played a very competitive game; indeed it's been our global "machine" that has spooked our main opposition; but we have played fair. If we get beated in a straight scrap then fair enough ...

If we get beated in a straight scrap then fair enough ... Well said. It's been fun to see the fans work together, if only to show Sharon that she has our support. I see we have had to face some dirty tricks from the challenger's fans. DV gets to harvest the advantages of having been 'dolled-up' and on national TV for many weeks on X Factor. This gives her a voting force far disproportionate to her actual level of talent. It's only fair that Sharon should reap some of the benefits of international support gained through years of strenuous effort by herself and her siblings. Enough of my rambling! Time to go vote again!!!

OFFICIAL TWITTERWALL ANNOUNCEMENT RE CLOSING DATE
COUNTRY COMPETITIONS
All of the Country Competitions continue as rolling monthly competitions.
THE WINNERS OF THE JUNE 2009 COMPETITIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES WILL BE DECLARED ON Tuesday 7th July 2009 at 10.00am GMT.
In each country the TOP 20 will be declared for Mr Twitter, Ms Twitter and Top Animal Twitterer.
USA | BRAZIL | MEXICO | CHILE NETHERLANDS | UK | GERMANY | AUSTRALIA
WHAT HAPPENS THEN ?
The TOP 20 in the above competitions will enter the TweeterWall of Fame and be immortalised forever.
The TOP 20 for USA, Brazil, Mexico and Chile will also enter a new AMERICAS competition and those of Netherlands, UK, Germany and Australia will enter a new REST OF THE WORLD competition. It will be interesting to see how the big against big will battle it out ? The winners of the AMERICAS and the REST OF THE WORLD competitions will then go on to fight it out for the July 09 WORLD competition.
Removing the TOP 20 monthly winners, allows both new and remaining participants in COUNTRY competitions a chance to go forward and WIN in future months.
Competitors that are declared Monthly winners are welcome to re-enter, however their vote counts will be reset to zero.
OTHER COUNTRIES
As the vote count of other countries grows, we will declare winners for these competitions also.
Over the next weeks we will move to complete and declare the initial winners progressively. So look out for announcements on your country and keep voting.
These mechanisms are designed to keep the country competitions vital and healthy as new people are entering these competitions every single day. By taking the top off (and rewarding and declaring winners) it ensures that everyone has a chance to progress within the competitions. Just over 6 million votes were cast in competitions in June 09, which is incredible.
TweeterWall is proving to be very, very popular and thousands of new entrants are adding their names every week.
Welcome to the new and well done to the regular voters in June 09.

Report from somewhere above the NW Indian Ocean.
Team Sharon over 17500; lead just passed 3100.
Think closest challenger may be switching focus to a new Worldwide comp; Best Solo Artist - Female. Only early days but they are already 2nd. Suspect they will switch key focus to THAT contest and run defensive in UK. Next 24 hours should tell us a tale.
Normally a fairly sporting person but since they took it upon themselves to employ gutter tactics .... crush the bastards !!

Now in the last 24 hours of UK comp. The Diana challenge ran out of steam by last Friday night and I estimate the final gap will be @ 4800 votes. Sharon currently 21700 votes and should finish in the low 22000's.
A charming sidelight over the last few days has been "our" adoption of Mia. Mia Sibley (@miafund) is a 3 y.o English girl with some severe "special needs" being uncapable of independent needs.
English comedian Stephen Fry's female alter-ego (@mrsstephenfry) has been engaged in some enormously entertaining exchanged with "The Boss" and he has been pushing Mia's barrow very hard. Sharon joined in Tweeting Mia and Team Sharon took her on-board early Saturday and she has ridden a wave of support from many sources but especially Team Sharon to a top 10 spot and will finish at least 8th.
What has impressed me is not that "we" have engaged in this support just because Sharon has "asked us" but the consensus of of so many of "the team" has been we should do this/we want to do this" and made these personal decisions of their own after going and investigating her story for themselves.
Corrs fans have proven a number of things over this comp. Not only are they enthusiastic and passionate in their support of Sharon's project; there also exists an enormous sense of cameraderie which has only been strengthened but just as importantly they have proven to be classy human beings.

It's over and done !!
Shaz finished with 22204 votes, 5090 ahead of D-V on 17144. Ruth Lorenzo 3rd on 10435. Our "adoptee" Mia finished 8th with 6356 (90 behind 7th and 140 off 6th) after setting 2 consecutive daily voting records with 1600 plus on the last day.
