When I was in college, I had to read Jane Austen's novel Persuasion for an English Literature class. Much to my surprise, I loved it. I have now read all of Jane Austen's novels several times... it's a weakness of mine. This production, featuring Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet and Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy, is brilliant and well worth seeing, in my opinion. It is very faithful to the book. Normally, my wife can't drag me to watch romance TV channels and shows, but this one has continued to be a favorite and I now own the DVD.

Without saying too much, Daniel and Jana, Mr. Darcy represents " pride" and Elizabeth Bennet represents " prejudice," and each of their defects must be corrected for their love to succeed. MORE INFORMATION: Internet Movie Database: here. British Film Institute - Screen Online: here. The novel can be looked at here: www.bibliomania.com/0/0/6/8/

I know from an interview that Andrea Corr likes the book "Pride and Prejudice". She was asked about her favourite books and she named this one besides others.
