Awww.. You're a sweetheart, Steve!! ;D Thanks for the pics.. She's soooo luvly!! I haven't seen the "Mamma Mia!" movie.. no.. I don't usually like musicals, or other people doing ABBA's songs.. having a hard time trying to imagine Meryl Streep & Pierce Brosnan singing ABBA actually!! Maybe, when it comes to DVD, ..I'll give it a try.. LoL!!! Have you seen it?? I'm hearing good things.. it's just not what I'd call, "my kind of movie" ...Although, I would've loved to have been at one of these movie premiers in London or Stockholm!! ;D Looks like the fans got quite a treat, with 3 members attending in London.. & all 4 in Stockholm.. ;D Sorry I hadn't been by in awhile..

You're welcome, Linda. As we noted over at the Corrs Club, it's quite amazing that the music of ABBA is ruling the charts right now in the U.S. www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003838390It's really funny, after all that great music with ABBA, that this is the FIRST time that songwriters Benny and Bjorn have a #1 album in the U.S. But this should give the music of ABBA another revival over here, I would think.

Yeah.. That's quite amazing!! I wonder if B & B are even aware of their accomplishment?? LoL!!! ;D ..I was @ "Future Shop" last night, looking for "Terminator 2" on Blu-ray.. ;D *ahem.. my kind of movie* LoL!!! ;D Anyway.. They were playing the "Mamma Mia!" soundtrack album, & honestly.. As much as I love ABBA, I couldn't stand it!! ..baaaaad singing!! ..painful to my ears!! Even tho, it's Benny on piano (& he's re-wrote the music for alot of those songs, to fit the movie, apparently..) And, alot of ABBA's original artists are playing on the album too.. But, I couldn't tolerate the singing.. I'm thinking I'd be the same with the movie as well.. So, best I skip it.. & hold out for Frida's solo project.. LoL!!! Hey.. did you know, Steve.. A fan cornered Frida @ the London premier, & asked her if she "really" wanted, & intended to do a solo project with Jon Lord.. She replied that she was "very" interested, & excited to get started.. if only Jon wasn't so busy.. Now, the fans over @ the forum want to send a petition to Jon Lord.. LoL!!! ;D I really hope they do this thing, sooner or later.. It would be a fantastic collaberation.. Thanks again, for those fabulous pics, Steve.. I'll try to stop by here more often..

Hey Linda! Yeah, I wondered about hearing those songs sung by actors instead of by Frida and Agnetha. I haven't seen it either. I am happy that the movie and soundtrack are doing well and making it possible for new people to discover the music; I'm sure quite a few will. Thank you for passing along Frida's comments about working with Jon Lord. I had thought that the collaboration was more of a "done deal" than that comment makes it seem. But at least it does seem like a strong possibility with what she DID say about it. I sure hope it happens! I think the results would be fantastic!! ;D

Yeah.. She definitely "wants" to do the project.. I guess it's just a matter of Jon finding the time.. so, who knows how long that will take?!! ..He's a busy man.. LoL!!! My friend, Kate is thinking Frida will appear on Jon's upcoming new album, in January.. So, *fingers crossed* ..we'll see.. Those pics are amazing!!! ..I loooove scrolling past them, everytime I come to this page.. ha ha!!! ;D Thanks again, Steve..

Yes, I have mine crossed too! I get goosebumps nearly every time I hear "The Sun Will Shine Again". But I also like the other pieces that Jon Lord wrote with Sam Brown such as "One From The Meadow". At first, I didn't think much of it but, as I listened more, I grew to appreciate the song immensely. His songs sort of remind me of the lieder of Richard Strauss. The songs of his are NOT for everyone, but I do enjoy them! Imagine a whole such album but with Frida vocals! *dream*

And also the Jon Lord collaborations! I don't know about the lack of other people in this thread. That's a great little picture of Frida and Agnetha. From watching the Frida boxset, I got the feeling that they got along okay, but weren't that close. Is that true or not? HERE' is my first introduction to ABBA on a Saturday morning watching American Bandstand in 1975 when I was 13 years old! ie.youtube.com/watch?v=1e8AL_yByqA&fmt=18I tell you that seeing Frida and Agnetha in those outfits was an unforgettable experience at that age!

Wow.. Steve!! Thank you sooo much for the "American Bandstand" video!! ;D I don't think I'd seen that one before, if you can believe it?? LoL!!! ;D ..Yes, I think those outfits worn by the girls, were the first ones I'd ever seen as well.. But, for me, ..it was the "Made In Sweden For Export" TV show, in '76 ..I was 14, I think.. hee hee!! But, those dresses were abit of a shock back then.. Check out Dick Clark!! ..ha ha!! He's talking to Frida about German people, & not all Swedes having blonde hair.. Bet he didn't realize Frida isn't Swedish, ..but is half German.. LoL!!! ;D Anyway.. Thanks, my friend.. You've definitely made my weekend!! *hugs*

I had heard one for the Beatles, but not for ABBA! It must be especially interesting to you as a student of music and orchestration.
