OK, It's Showtime !!
Sharon's first single (for Ireland/UK at least) will be "It's Not A Dream" and it will be officially released on Aug 1. However, it was released to UK/Irish radio today.
Received this Tweet from Gavin an hour ago:
"I just heard INAD on Today FM radio. It's 'download of the day' today. Sharon will be in there, Wed. U can't beat fans demandin airply CW. G"
That approach may not work in some markets we know, yet in others it could pay MAJOR dividends where the designated playlist" is less monolithic. Gavin has certainly been working and charming the fanbase as much as "da Missus".
Sharon WILL be appearing on Irish radio station Today FM at 3pm on Wednesday. Some MAY be able to catch something on todayfm.ie

A "new" member joined the official site forum.
"Hi Guys.
My name is Sharon, I'm from Dundalk in Ireland. I was in a little band called The Corrs, you may have heard of them? I am delighted you have come to join this forum and I want to take a moment to let you know what to expect from it. I want this to be a place where I can get real feedback from you as I go. Today, we released It's Not A Dream to radio in the Uk and Ireland. Tell me if you hear it, where you hear it, the comments around it, please. I expect to be doing a lot of promo in the coming weeks and I don't want to miss out on a place where it's going down well.
The music business has changed a lot recently and we are evolving with it. I consider it a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a very interesting new chapter in the history of music.
My single will be available for download (worldwide) on Aug 3rd.
Enjoy this forum as I will enjoy reading all your input!
I will put all the latest news on this site first!
Lots a love,
Sharon x"
Also posted as an update on front page of site. Can't say the lady isn't willing to interact with we peasants.

Great news! ;D I wonder how it's going to do? I have already mentioned to one DJ (and nice guy) named Keith Hazelton at SoftRock UK (whose show I listen to nearly every Sunday) that I am going to be requesting that a song from Sharon Corr's upcoming solo album be played. Clearly, Sharon is not setting out to break any 'Corrs image' with this leading single. Even though it's a slow, perhaps "safe" song, I do believe that it is a good choice, because it is gorgeous song. We'll see how it goes. I'm quite resigned and accustomed to ordering my Corrs music as imported from the UK, so I won't be disappointed if there is no U.S. release. If there isn't, then there is no point in demanding airplay here. I might anyway, though! ;D I couldn't be more pleased at the way Sharon and Gavin have taken a self-motivated "flanking maneuver" around the established traditions of reliance on the record label to promote by using a direct appeal to fans. If anything, these Twitter contests have shown that the embers of fan adoration have remained fiery hot below the surface (despite the need for a little fanning in some parts of the world). I would think that the Bonnars have been pleased with and encouraged by the level of fan support. The past nine or so months certainly have been serendipitous!

My single will be available for download (worldwide) on Aug 3rd. Wow!! Worldwide!! No geographic restrictions??? Woohoo!! I will definitely buy this download, though at heart I'm still old school about buying my music as "0101010111010001110001110011". I like my 1's and 0's in a form that I can have and hold, hihi.

These delays are all so common these days. Here is the cover of the new single (courtesy of Stylorouge): Photo by StylorougeSo there WILL be an actual single as opposed to a download single!

Not sure about physical single but should definitely be physical album because frankly it will be the "entire musical package" of the album that is likely to sell better rather than any breakthrough singles.
The Boss will be back on the promotional trail soon but is currently over in Spain (Madrid) recording a duet with Spanish singer Alex Ubago.

Short message from The Boss
Hey guys! It’s VERY hot here in Madrid. Had a wonderful day in the studio with Alex Ubago. We recorded a song for Autumn release. Our voices blended really well together. I enjoyed singing in Spanish and in English. We’re putting down violin on the track tomorrow and shooting the video on Thursday.
Getting great feedback in the UK and Ireland on the single. So fingers, toes, eyeballs and whatever else crossed!
Lots of love. Sharon x

The following was posted by Peter (Admin) on Shaz official forum with regards to the delayed release of INAD.
"As some of you have already heard, Sharon has been A-Listed on Radio 2 in the UK today, which is brilliant, brilliant news! This means that her new single will be heard by millions of people across the country who might not have had the chance to hear it otherwise, and should really help to make her debut single a great success.
Part of the deal with radio playlists is that when radio stations do promote the single to all their listeners, they ask in return that they can have the song exclusively for a few weeks. They have thousands of new singles to choose from each week, so if they promote Sharon's new song then it's only fair that they're able to say "you heard it here first!".
The incredible enthusiasm that people are feeling has taken us by storm (even though you guys have always loved it ) and so the release date was pushed back to make room for even more promotion - you've heard Sharon on Glastonbury radio, Today FM etc.
I made the edit the the original post, as you saw, but I didn't want to make a new announcement (about the date change) until we were certain about the new date. I realise now how that could have left you without any news, and for that I'm sorry. I should have posted an explanation on the forum sooner. But I really hope you don't get down and lose enthusiasm, because there is SOOOO much to be positive and excited about here:
1. This all means that Sharon's music will be heard by much more people than originally hoped. If this means more single sales, then that might afford us to produce more great stuff - like videos for songs that might not have had a video before, like more parts to the epk videos, like a dvd - these are all just examples off the top of my head, so don't hold me to it! but I hope you get the picture.
2. I think most of the fans here, me included, are really excited for Sharon and delighted that she's getting such great success, even before the launch of her first single!
3. While Sharon is doing all this promo work, the rest of her team here will be bringing you guys as much new stuff as we can to fill the gap between now and the launch of the single. That includes as many of the interviews and acoustic performances as we can, maybe another part to the EPK, the carpool video on Friday...
I know that Sharon is incredibly thankful to all you guys for being so supportive for all these years, and especially in the last number of months as she prepares to launch her solo album. Because of that we try to keep you up to date on all the news as soon as it happens, but sometimes that means when plans change (as they often do) you'll be along for the ride! In the past, for example, the original planned date would never have been mentioned, and we can go back to that way if changes are causing too much upset, but I think almost everyone here is much happier with being involved with the plans as much as possible, even if that does lead to a few hiccups along the way!"

I read this post after the single was momentarily put up by mistake at iTunes and I downloaded it! It's only right that I keep quiet about it.

Some feedback re airplay in the UK. Gav broadcast the following Tweet: "Uk airplay figures show her single moving from n315 last week to n41 this! Second highest jump in the entire chart!! Woohoo!"
Seeing as the single has not been released then these numbers are promising ... given that the song is NOT realistically targetting Top 40 market.

That's good news from Gavin! The following was posted by Peter (Admin) on Shaz official forum with regards to the delayed release of INAD. Is it one particular channel, or do you mean that the release of the single itself is pushed back to allow the radio stations be the only place to hear the song?
