Sharon's appearance on RTE's Late Late Show is now up on RTE site www.rte.ie/tv/latelate/index.htmlAlong with a "house" string section; she was backed by Anto, Keith, Jace, Billy Farrell (piano) & Roberta Howett (b-vox). INAD may be her opening single but it appears to be the number that gives her the biggest problems vocally. This performace reminded me of a few others she's done where she's "tightened up" and, as a result, quickened tempo (on a song that's akin to a lullaby) & raised her pitch into a part of her vocal register that is not comfortable. Nerves most likely & understandably but this song would prob do best as slow as she likes & down into her mid register where there is much more warmth to her tone. Not a "train-wreck" by any stretch but neither was it one that was likely to "lock in the deal".

Another BBC Radio performance yesterday with BBC Ulster (Dreams is played @23min then interview starts after 31min closed out with a live perf of INAD. Shaz sounds like a slight sore throat may be hanging around yet, to my mind, this was a far more secure vocal performance than the Late Late Show. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00ml53r/Alan_Simpson_07_09_2009/

I know from Gavin's "tweet" that he's had a cold, so Sharon could be fighting something. I haven't heard it yet, but will try to catch it soon. (I had company over the weekend.)

Gav's been in great form lately. Loved his comment about the Bluey Twibbon ....."Yeah, love that Tw ibbon! Dunno why. She loves that thing more than me!!"
Poor guy; mind you Bluey probably considers that's just an admission of the bleeding obvious ..... he's always been of the opinion that HE is Sharon's "main man".
Back to her live performances. You do have to give her an immense amount of credit for having the courage to go out there and perform/sell live "without the safety net". S'pose this is somewhat of a throwback to the band days where they stood out from the ruck by being VERY open to perform live/acoustically ... and live with whatever comes out. Think Gav DID some it up perfectly. "Very few artists have the balls to go live. Sharon has no fear." Absolutely ... and salute her for it.
Don't get me wrong and think I'm rubbishing her performances .... far from it. What I am doing is looking at things from a wider perspective than just a devoted fan but rather from a neutral viewpoint; that of the wider public who has NOT heard the number before and how THEY (the market she is needing to attract) may receive it. THESE "punters" will not know/care about any ill-health/playback but rather whether the song/performance registered positively/negatively/not at all with them.

Footage of Sharon's radio interview & performance of "Over It" this morning on TodayFM posted by the radio station (accompanied as always by her "very nice accessory") www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgXEN6sf7DI Sharon's team should actually circulate this one !! It really DOES sell Sharon at her best .... confident, charming, her sense of humour, drop dead gorgeous but more importantly her talent & a very catchy song.

A Sharon appearance on TV3 Ireland. The interviewer IS somewhat of a smug self-satisfied git (which sadly but aptly describes many of his ilk) but some rather interesting questions amongst the tripe & some interesting insights from Sharon. Some folk on another site went OMG Nasty !! about the Jim question BUT people need to accept that Jim's recent ventures HAVE given him somewhat of a natl profile in Ireland but Shaz appears to understand this & handles the issue sensibly. www.tv3.ie/ireland_am.php?video=13540&locID=1.65.74 (click on phot of Ireland's most photogenic female)
