Hey, there were some news about John Hughes on COW: We are delighted to announce that at this year’s Meteor Ireland Music Awards the band’s manager, John Hughes, was presented with the Meteor Industry Award. It recognises a lifetime of work both in and out of the spotlight. From all of us here at the site, congratulations John. The Awards will be broadcast on RTE2, Sunday 27th February at 9.00pm.

Well-deserved, I'd say! What I most appreciate about John Hughes is his patient faith in the Corrs' music. I'm sure some record executives told him that any band with a violin, tin whistle and bodhran would never sell hit records. However, being a musician himself, he recognized the immense talent of the Corrs and his faith was rewarded.
As for Westlife (the Meteor "Best Pop Group" winners), I congratulate them. I cannot say anything else about them, since I have never heard their music. I believe that the Corrs will continue to be loved while other pop bands come and go. I hope that the Corrs continue to make music for decades, much like U2 and the Rolling Stones.

When the Corrs got their first record deal and had their first singles...which other bands from the UK or Ireland was there as well...Spice Girls, gone, Bewitched, gone, SClub7, never heard of them again...But THE CORRS, they´re still there, right? I think there´s a great chance that the Corrs will continue making good music because they´re really dedicated to it.

I guess they will! I think it's because their music is so characteristic for them you know? Everytime when you hear a soing of the Corrs and the other groups Steve mentioned you know that that's a song of exactly this group,...many of all the others which come and go as you said sound a bit like...hm...they don't have this characteristic thing...do they?
