Some good news about a new Corrs DVD. The following was posted on the "Stylorouge Creative Consultants" website: NEWS - APRIL 2005 The Corrs in Geneva: We're On A (Swiss) Roll Since we shot the Geneva concert by the Corrs at the end of last year we've had a number of enquiries as to when it will be released on DVD. The answer is, we don't really know, but suffice to say that the initial stages of post-production are well under way and if we get any news regarding a commercial release we'll announce it here.[/size] Link:www.stylorouge.com/

Latest announcement from Stylorouge: The Corrs Geneva concert, which we filmed in November last year, finally gets a release date, but not before the second part of the project is put to bed. Stylorouge have been appointed by the band and their official documentary film-maker Ciaran Tanham to complete a long-form sell through documentary that will make the resulting sell-through package a must-have for all Corrs fans. With packaging also by Stylorouge, the double DVD set will be available later in the year. We might be waiting a bit longer, but it's a DOUBLE DVD with a documentary!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D And there's already a link at SendIt.com that says the DVD (Region 2) will be released on 31 October 2005! ;D

Here´s something that I already said to Caro when we talked yesterday: Did you notice hw fast the Corrs travel around the globe? They must be using a high speed jet. Starting in Dundalk at 19:45 and being in Geneva at 21:30 with having travelled "through" Sydney and Rome etc. Or if you take a look at it the other way around (Which I actually did, I started at the bottom, going to the top, because it´s called "All the way home" after all.) they actually travell backwards in time!!! I like the cover. The fond at the top looks really nice. The cover is different, but great. By the way, so did the Corrs not do a fotoshoot this time? It seems to me they did not, seeing that the DVD cover features "old" Borrowed Heaven pictures and the CD cover is an artwork (On with Sharon´s still a blone!)

Or if you take a look at it the other way around (Which I actually did, I started at the bottom, going to the top, because it´s called "All The Way Home"; after all.) they actually travel backwards in time!!! That's an amazingly insightful observation! I never would have made it myself. I guess this is another example of Swantje's ability to observe and think creatively! (Those abilities must be what set apart Swantje as such an excellent poet and artist!) I am actually thrilled that "A History of the Corrs" is actually the feature item of the DVD, and the Geneva concert the addition. It must mean that this history is not a short "filler" bio, but may actually go into some great depth. The story of this band is, after all, the story of a family whose parents loved their children and loved music, including the story of an amazing "Mammy" Jean Corr, whose songbook has inspired the upcoming Home CD and whose memory pervades Borrowed Heaven. Obviously, the musical career of Gerry and Jean Corr (with their group "Sound Affair") had an enormous influence on Jim, Sharon, Caroline and Andrea. I have never found any adequate treatment of this phase in their lives. I posted a question at the CorrBoard on the influence of the Corrs' parents on the development of their musical sensibilities. However, nobody could give me an answer. I am hoping this DVD will give me a few answers. I am also looking forward to seeing live performances of the Borrowed Heaven songs in Geneva, with Caroline in attendance after rejoining the tour.

Hah, but I can´t help it, that´s just the way my brain works, I guess. And yes, I am excited about the fact that "Live in Geneve" actually "only" is the addition. At first I was all confused about the title being so much about the history of the Corrs ´cause until a few days ago I thought that the documentary would be a short addition only. I am looking forward to this documentary a lot, as for some of the reasons that Steve mentioned.
