And listening to the song, seeing the new cover, I know again why I love the Corrs so much and why they play a big role in my life. Ever since I was 11 (Which is 10 years ago now) I listened to their music. I kinda grew up with listening to this band from Ireland and have always been fascinated by their natural musical talent. Today for the first time I had this feeling again, I felt like I was 11 years old again and listened to the Corrs for the first time.
I´m feeling good today. The Corrs are back (With never having been gone.). Swantje, it is so nice to hear such positive remarks from a long-time fan of ten years! Now I did something really crazy! I purchased the new "Home" CD from Japan! www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=WPCR-12164I must be crazy to pay so much just to possibly get just one little bonus track ("Return to Fingal"). Regarding the new cover of "Old Town," I think it's great!! I understand the tendency to prefer the Unplugged version of the song, the one we've come to know and love, but I believe that, ultimately, this version will be loved as well.

Well, Corrsnut, for us Americans, we have NO release date as of yet. Many are saying that, IF it is released in the United States, it may not be until 2006! That's why I ordered mine as an import from Japan. Speaking of which, did anyone notice that the cover art on some editions (including the Japanese edition) is slightly different: Will it be this version?: Or this version?:

I noticed the different covers as well! I have to say I still like the first one more, the second one´s beautiful to but it somehow does not suit Jim´s face as much as the first one. Also I am not sure whether the colour used in the middle, is a good idea, seeing that most of the artwork is black&white...
By the way Steve, you know, if I had a credit card and could by my stuff all around the globe, I´d probably also pre-order "Home" from Japan, so I just guess either we´re both crazy, or it´s just a normal thing for a Corrs fan to do!

I thought they conquered America when "In Blue" was released in the US in 2000.

I thought they conquered America when "In Blue" was released in the US in 2000. That's the sad thing because you're exactly right; the Corrs were very successful in the U.S. during the In Blue period. I have been very discouraged by the whole lack of effort (thus far) on the part of the U.S. branch of Atlantic Records to get behind the promotion not only of Home but also last year for Borrowed Heaven. The Corrs definitely deserve better in light of their past success in the States. I guess the three years that the Corrs spent away from the limelight is a long time in the music business. I am hoping that the U.S. release of Home and the All The Way Home DVD is being delayed PURPOSELY, so that the release can be coordinated with a promotional campaign to include television appearances by the Corrs and some type of U.S. tour perhaps around St. Patrick's Day 2006. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Looks like German Amazon is reporting the German release date for Home as the 23rd of September, less than 20 days from now! ;D

Oh grrrr....damn you Amazon Germany, always the same! It´s constantly causing me pain! `Cause when I preordered "Home" they only had it available as UK Import and this is the one I am getting now some time between the 27th and 29th of September! While everyone who is wise enough to pre-order now (and not a couple of weeks ago) will get this edition of home a few days earlier and A LOT cheaper...oh well, looking forward to my UK Import though and I am so going to hide in a dark corner somewhere from the 23rd to the 27th or 29th, so that I won´t have to hear all the happy talk about "Home" while I am still waiting for it. *lol*
Thanks for the news anyways, Steve!

You did everything right, and still you'll have a few days to wait! That doesn't seem fair! But it is quite an honour for Germany to be put at the top of the list for release dates. ;D By the way, a THIRD version of the cover from Warner Germany! ( www.warnermusic.de/); I think I like it the best. They got rid of the wild-haired woman ("Old Hag"?) in the center from #2 and replaced her with the graceful woman fiddler of #1, but with longer hair. I like it!

Amazon.de does promote "Home" via mails now. Woke up this morning to find a promotional mail from amazon.de in my mailbox in which they were almost begging me to pre-order "Home" *lol* (Needless to say that I did do so already, weeks ago!) They added a short description and a quote by Andrea.

Amazon seems to dislike me, as I didn´t get such a commercial e-mail.

Maybe they´ll still send you one? It wasn´t much of a bg deal but it really made my day to see that they´re doing some sort of promotion for "Home".
