Caroline is a yummy mummy
By Hayley Carlin - 13th September 2005
Caroline is taking part in National Yummy Mummy week this year. The idea was started by children's cancer charity CLIC, all monies raised will be donated to this charity. The special week runs from September 16th - September 25th.
You can read more about the charity and view more information on the CLIC website.
Caroline helped spread the word by sending letters to various newspapers in the UK. Here is her letter:As a mother, and an avid supporter of the children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent, I am writing to ask your readers to get involved in National Yummy Mummy week between and September 16 and 25, 2005.
Yummy Mummy week is all about getting mums together with their families and friends to celebrate being Yummy Mummies.
You could have a lunch, picnic or pampering party. Money raised by people donating to attend will go to support mothers who have had their lives turned upside down by child cancer.
Every 48 hours, 10 children are diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia.
Yummy Mummy Week hopes to raise over £150,000 to support CLIC Sargent's services, which are a lifeline keeping families together when the unimaginable happens.
It's really easy to organise an event – there's a free Action Pack with everything you need. "I'm a Yummy Mummy" fuchsia mugs and T-shirts are the perfect gift for new mums and old too. There are even kiddie "I have a Yummy Mummy" T-shirts for both boys and girls.
I urge your readers to get together with friends and family to organise a Yummy Mummy Moment. Every penny raised will go to help children with cancer or leukaemia and their families.
You can get your Action Pack, mugs and t-shirts by calling 08451 206 658 or logging onto www.clicsargent.org.uk/yummymummy/. Because every mum deserves some fun
