Well I can't really describe it, it's just really different from anything else i've heard. You can go here and sample the songs www.amazon.com/Begin-Hope-Regina-Spektor/dp/B000FFJ80I/sr=1-1/qid=1159663639/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-8555559-3698314?ie=UTF8&s=musicSorry you'll have to copy and paste it since it's a longer link. But I will say her music isn't for everyone it just depends what you're willing to listen to. I for one am glad my friend told me about her *waves* Hi Linda!!!

What can I say....I love music!! My top plays and listens at the moment are Lisa Chappell, Rebecca Lavelle (need a daily dose), and Enya (always). I also heard some new songs by Roxette (thanks Cynni) that are really great! And I can't forget Natalie MacMaster and the bagpipe music for dance lessons I listen to every night. ;D I am really looking forward to both new Moya Brennan albums (An Irish Christmas and Signature), I recently bought a Clannad album and I am also excited about the new Sarah McLachlan cd "Wintersong". And since joining this forum...I have pulled out my Corrs cd's once again! Katie xox

LOL....Katie!!!! ;D I listened to "Home" by the Corrs, just the other day... First time in ages!!! ...I've been listening to Olivia Newton John's "Women Of Song" CD also lately... Anyone like her?? I've loved her voice, & her music for years.. Her latest one is a tribute to women songwriters from the past decades, maybe the 70s.. It's very relaxing to listen to.. I'm also eagerly awaiting the release of ABBA's "Arrival" CD in deluxe edition, with a bonus DVD, coming out in North America, October 17th.. Yaay!!! ;D ...Also, Loreena Mckennitt in November.. Did I mention that already?? LOL!!!! ;D

Mostly I listen to to The Corrs and U2 (SUPRISE!) but lately i have been listening to a few new bands The veronicas, two twin sisters from Australia, only one album out so far, but its pretty good , can't wait to see/hear more Another new artist i've been listening to for a few weeks now, the recording isn't perfect quality, but the feel of the songs are still great, she's a part of a band in Germany, i haven't heard anything from the band, i've just heard two songs that she's made herself, and they're great (anyone catching on yet?) Apparantly the two songs were from poems written by a good friend of hers, and she's turned them into songs I certainly hope she keeps making songs like this, these two songs are already in my playlist to stay

I like Olivia Newton-John's music too. I particularly liked some of her early music. I remember liking "Have You Never Been Mellow", "I Honestly Love You", and there's a little-known cover she did of a Bob Dylan song called "If Not For You" that I really like. Like quite a few here, I have been impressed by Rebecca Lavelle. But I also found a remastered CD of the music of Johnny Rivers. I guess you would consider his music "oldies" now, but I really like the work he has done. He sang a lot of covers, but he always brought something new to his renditions. It's really old stuff, but I have always wanted to have his music, but whenever I would go into a record shop, I would only find CDs that had only about 10 of his songs. This CD has over 40 and they are remastered! One of my favourites is "Summer Rain" but I also especially like a song called "Rockin' Pneumonia And The Boogie Woogie Flu". The piano work is awesome and you can't help but start trying to dance.
