Hi! For years now, I'm a fan of The Beach Boys (like someone here at the board )... I was surfing on YouTube and found that one day Enjoy

Thanks Linda!! I knew nothing about that song, but I remember it well. ;D Simone! Ahhh! "Surfer Girl" is such beautiful song. Thanks for that guitar version! I really like it! Are you going to learn it? Yesterday I was playing around with adding &fmt=18 to the URL of YouTubes. It really improves the sound! I was listening to some obscure minor album tracks by the Electric Light Orchestra, a band that I really loved when growing up. I loved this blend of classical with pop with a lot of cool "Star Wars"-like effects (at least they were cool back then, hihi ). The songs reminded me why I liked ELO so much: Jeff Lynne's songs. Here are some: One Summer Dream from Face The Music. Tightrope from A New World Record. Telephone Line from A New World Record. Do Ya from A New World Record. Believe Me Now and Steppin' Out from Out of the Blue. Wild West Hero from Out of the Blue. Need Her Love from Discovery. The Lights Go Down from Time. There's magic in his songwriting - even when the songs seem very simple. In reality, Jeff Lynne is a master of chords

I just downloaded an ELO song, "Evil Woman" ;D ..I loved their music too.. Steve.. I was trying that little trick with youtube videos, when you mentioned it @ Corrs Club "OTboard" ..But, I didn't notice any difference really?? ..Maybe I wasn't doing it right..

It doesn't always work, Linda. It depends on how the video was uploaded; if it wasn't uploaded in stereo, then it won't be in stereo. Here's an example of a well-known tune that might show the difference. First listen to: ie.youtube.com/watch?v=it_7oNJMbf8Then compare to the result when &fmt=18 is added: ie.youtube.com/watch?v=it_7oNJMbf8&fmt=18(I am always so impressed that Bryan Adams performed this with a broken hand not long after a motorcycle accident. I love the sound of Michael Kamen's orchestra kicking in for the second verse. The late Michael Kamen - who co-wrote this tune - is much-missed).

Wow!! You're right.. That did make a difference!! ;D Although, to me.. that video already seemed in pretty good quality, ..I mean, compared with some of the ones I've watched recently.. LoL!!! ;D ..I'll keep trying it, in future, ..see what happens.. That was a nice video (song) by Bryan Adams.. Thanks for sharing, Steve.. Now.. How about a little Holly Cole ?? uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XDRrErJHcCYOne of my faves.. I've been trying to promote her abit, over on the ABBA forum, in the "other artists" section, ..but, not too many comments.. Ah well, you never know, ..if her music reaches one new fan, then I've done my job.. ha ha!! ;D

Holly Cole is a great singer! Thanks for the video, Linda, and thanks for introducing me to her music. Her videos are hard to find on the internet. I found a YouTube of Onion Girl. It's a great song, but the video consists of an unchanging bad quality photo. When I was in Alabama, I saw an album by the Holly Cole Trio and ALMOST bought it, but it was quite expensive and I thought I could find it online for a better price. I ended up getting a CD called In My Hands by another Canadian, Natalie MacMaster.

Indeed, Steve!!! Wow... thanks for the tip... Mr Adams is a really talented guy ... how come I don't sound like him when I play that song?? And, yes, I might learn that version of "Little Surfer Girl" by Adrian... you should try some of his vids on YouTube! Thanks also for Holly Cole, Linda... I've never heard about her before and I will check some of her songs too ;D Seeya

Indeed, Steve!!! Wow... thanks for the tip... Mr Adams is a really talented guy ... how come I don't sound like him when I play that song?? It would be scary, actually, if your voice sounded like Bryan Adams, haha! Having enjoyed the privilege of hearing you sing, I can say confidently that you have a fabulous singing voice, even if it's not like Bryan's. I'd really like to hear you sing with the backing an orchestra like that of Michael Kamen! That would be something!!!
